I quite enjoy Wheeler Dealers and thought part of the point of the show was to show you how to do DIY jobs so save on labour costs.

Just watching the M3 one right now. So what would be the labour charge on removing and refitting that gear box eh?
It might surprise you, but Some people actually do automotive maintenance themselves!

laugh

I used to do my own work on my cars and bikes and I know that is what the show is all about except I didn't have a car lift or a workshop.

I did fit the tow bar electrics to my Disco 3 back in 2005 tho' when Land Rover wanted to charge me £140 to do it.

I had to half park it on a high kerb so that I could crawl underneath it in order to route the loom and it was pouring with rain. Got soaked as I was working in the gutter and it took about 2 hours.biggrin

I think he's alright actually. He has a TV persona that is a little annoying but he seems friendly enough. Indeed at this years NEC classic show he came across really well, if a little over-excitable.
