I've now decided i dont like PH. Everytime im on here i start wanting more and more different cars, i've always liked the caterhams, and seeing the amount of praise they get, i'd love a shot of one. But being 19 and although having 2 years of driving behind me, i doubt my capabilies would live up to driving one. And that insurance is still a pain in the ass.
I had my first at 21 and paid £500 for insurance....
yikes thats cheap. i may have to have a look. although id have to be able to afford two cars at the time.
I had a shed too, and paid about the same for insurance and buttons on running it. Overall it was cheaper to have two cars than use the Caterham as my only car! But I was lucky not to have storage/parking issues.

go for it matey, most Porscheofiles will tell you a 911 Carrera 3.2 is possibly the optimum one to buy, good balance of cost vs power vs fun

good advice, I only ever really got wet once, but that time it was so bad I had to wring out ma' skiddies!! driving without the doors is pretty bad, drafty as hell......

Most of that advice is regarding the roof. Easiest way round those problems is to simply never use the roof. With screen and doors very little rain ever comes in as it blows over the top. Get a tonneau for when you park it and a coat for the few times when it really tips down. Don't ever be tempted by screen and no doors though (as magazine photographers always seem o insist on) - it's horrible.

Or do it properly and bin the screen as well biggrin

PS ooh! Look at me - first post on here! and I recognize several of you smile

I've been that wet once or twice - when you can feel water dripping off the inside of your trousers onto your leg... I've got waterproof trousers now smile

PS I just looked at your profile - your 911 is *exactly* what I want next (as well as) my 7. Although possibly an '87 one as that's the motorshow where I first saw one.
