Stolen from the supercars spotted thread but this bit of parking is atrocious

That car was parked perfectly, someone photo shopped the yellow lines to make it look like it was badly parked biggrin

roflroflrofl Nicely done!

I think the saving grace on that occasion though was the traffic wardens had not left their coffins yet.

I nearly got out and took a photo of a chap and his family parked, perpendicular to how he should be, across three bays, but not actually *in* the three bays, he was outside them, i.e. blocking the road/carpark lane, whilst they all enjoyed their MacDonald's. I didn't get out to take a photo in case he asked WTF I was doing and ttted me. What a cock though. I was somewhat riled. If he'd have dumped his litter it would have been the last straw.. smile

Must take some photos of both mother and son across road from me .somehow the word "parallel " to kerb seems to have escaped their logic -it's like synchronised parking - both have either front end or rear end out in middle of road .I used to come in , park half on kerb( ok, not legal bit police are not too bothered ,as road is only about wide enough for two cars to pass with a few inches to spare ,so any parking on pavement makes for better emergency access )-shed come in , park a few inches from kerb. Some van would have problems -and as I was on pavement "it was my problem" - so I got wise - if I got in first ,I'd park on road - and send any complainant to her . Later ,I'd move car to make most space for any emergency vehicle -then when she went out ,on return ,her car was parked inches from kerb ,negating any space I'd made availablebanghead .Son is no better -looks like it's a joke to them ,but sooner or later a fire will happen ,or ambulance will fail to reach heart attack victim -and will they feel guilty -oh no - it'll be because someone parked in "THEIR SPACE" bangheadbanghead

In all seriousness though, would you guys not agree that parking spaces have become too small? There is no way I would park my Viper in a busy car park. Normally I drive around in a Long wheel base vauxhall vivaro van, the end hangs out of a regular space in the car park, or if I back it in to the parking space, when I return with the shopping, I cant open the rear doors as another car has parked right up behind me frown Then when I last came out with the shopping some tosser had bent my rear wheel arch turning their front wheel while reversing out of the cramped space next to me banghead I'm sure the idiots that plan these spaces all drive Ford Ka's, if you look at the size of the average school run 4 x 4 driven by the mums that then go off to the local Tescos or ASDA to do the daily shopping there is only a slight chance that any of them will be parked correctly, if you can get in a space there is no way they could open the door and squeeze their body's past the car parked next to them. I personally would like to see spaces measured out to the same size as in the USA. You have room for a proper car and can even open a car door! Don't get me started on B&Q car parks, You pull your van up near the trade entrance then within a mile or two your guaranteed to have a load of discarded nails or screws stuck in your bloody wheels banghead Rant over....For now getmecoat

Tescos, for example, has a figure for how much turnover each car parking space is worth to them. So they want to maximise the potential turnover by squeezing in as many parking spaces as possible.

I agree that in a lot of places, they are a squeeze and it would be more comfortable all round if they were atleast a little bigger.
