Again Rob, I cannot argue with any of your above points and it all makes absoloute sense to me.

Upper End Trackdays are not too pretentious I don't think and indeed I'm hoping that maybe I might bump (not literally) into you at a GRRC trackday this year?
They do track days?

IMO Don't buy a stripey watch. It's a 'McQueen' too far.

Alfa is lovely.

Oh, and if this is my only post of the day, this is what I will be thinking of.

1 out of that lot. i was thinking similarly for my birthday watch, the calibre 12 seems to go for £1200-1400 2nd hand or there's a heuer reissue version that sells for a bit more.

i'm currently settled on a carrera 12 reissue as the originals are out of my league.

anyway, back on topic. strange want of the week award goes to:

Off topic.;
I've opted for number 1 on my watch list and that Carrera 12 that you've posted is rather lovely too.

On topic;
Today I am wanting these two....

Other desires, come on man. There will always be another car waiting for you. But you could stray over to boats etc. I have been thinking about a 3 wheeled scooter because I cant be bothered doing my bike license and I get annoyed in traffic jams. Like this:

Don't get me started. I can't tell you how much I want to do my bike licence and get a nice Triumph Street Triple in white:

As for boats, lets just say that one day I hopefully won't have to buy any.

SLS warning tells you all you need to know IMO.

The owner is selling because the car's about to rape him.
OK then how about this one?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2435068.htm

I do rather like that yes Maybe sitting a smidgeon too low for my liking but easy enough to rectify. Love the fact it is still amber'd and no rear spoiler.
Seems expensive though despite having had a fair bit spent on it.

I call bullst on a few of the comments in the ad. 30mpg my arse. I've averaged 22mpg in a 6 speed, much of that on the motorway where the overdrive box gives more economy & incidentally why it's generally considered the better box than the 5 speed.

As for suggesting an E34 is an appreciating asset, nonsense.

The car may or may not be a good un but the ad makes me suspicious of the seller.

Gimme a chance!

I am in a different country, trying to sort a new life out, find a new home and trying to put a car deal together at the same time.

Think its just the 400cc version with its wider track. No bad thing.

Phone him. Tell him you'll have it. Stick £1000.00 in his account to secure it. Once sorted, pay for it in full, get him to deliver it to me here and I'll store it in our workshop until you're back.

Job done.

pretty sure i saw a yellow one of these for sale last year for high 5 figures - maybe £80k ish. i think i'm mistaken though as it sounds low, a 1900css would be around that though which, although less purposeful, i think is far lovelier.

there's a standard mint giulietta sprint at gallery brummen for £25k which has to be a steal these days.

bring back the days of the £5k mint gt junior and £10k giulietta!
