I hope you told her just how stupid she is.

The power of that tsunami is just incredible!
Though I am Australian, and graduated at the Sir Les Patterson School of Diplomacy, I merely suggested that tectonic activity is probably not determined by atmospheric conditions.

The phrase 'you window licking hmongtard' did not leave my lips.

Crikey, I saw the early news around 7am and have just put News24 on - that is really shocking. Fingers crossed to all you lads out in the Pacific.

The whole region seems to be very active right now with the NZ quake and a massive eruption in Hawaii, I quess its all the same plate under tension and fidgeting about.

the death toll is going to be huge sadly.

like all natural disasters information gets put through ever so slowly. first its just a few who get confirmed dead and then within a few days its reaching a few hundred thousand. the tsunami was the same in the indian ocean. initial reports were small very low numbers before the reporters were able to get there and report the real damage.

That building is 5km away and 20+ floors tall. The refinery fire is another 10km beyond that....

I wonder if this will affect the production of stuff, parts for all the Japanese brand vehicles and stuff like that.

Here's the same fire from two other angles. Quite horrifying.

... nothing like a petrolchemical fire to turn night into day. How/where do you even begin to start putting that thing out.

My wife's sister is down in Fukuoka south east Japan.

Her heart was in her mouth this morning when Breakfast news announced "Massive Earthquake hits Japan, Large Death Toll Expected", "But more about that in a few minutes, first, here is a man who can play trombone with one foot"...

Bloody BBC magazine programme, not news.

You know how people tend to throw about the word "epic" these days without really considering its meaning?

This really is epic.
