I know it has already been reported, but I thought I'd just confirm that it is more annoying than an unexpected visit to the STD clinic. Bloody floating adverts belong on porn sites - and that IS an area of expertise

Have you ever considered not allowing new ads on the site on a friday?

It seems to be a regular pattern of annoying ads get added on a friday afternoon and we spend the weekend moaning about it

Yep, and from time time to we've turned off ad code on a Friday when it has become clear that something nasty won't go away.

Actually turning off new ads on a Friday isn't an option because our ads (this type specifically) are managed by a third party who will, within certain guidelines around the categories of advertising we'll accept, take ads from the highest bidder. It means you'll never see porn or gambling ads, but if an advertiser decides to flout the rules around copy execution (sound, expandable ads etc, or pop ups) then it can be hard to prevent. However we do come down hard on those advertisers once they've flouted the rules, so they'll only do it once....

In the Focus RS article it appeared.
