Dublin again. Bono as a neighbour but don't hold that against this. Stunning sea view. Double garage. 0.9 of an acre. I would (if I won the euro millions!).

You see I think that's hideous and ghastly and I can't believe they got planning permission for it.
Guessing that its listed, I would say they probably only get permission because it was such and extreme contrast. With listed extensions they often say that it has to look like it wasn't part of the orininal building.
So it has to look horrid instead - typical stupidity of EH.

Look on the map, go to street view and check out the neighbouring houses.
Could you get any more out of character for the area?
Yes.

I wonder how much it's valued at? And, for that matter, who would want to pay that much for something at Allens West!? Wynyard maybe, but not there.

It's only one house, so why has it been designed to look like 3?

Looks like the accommodation block for a modern conference centre. Quite hideous.

And why are there 6 kitchens...? Ah, probably didn't get planning permission for multiple dwellings but built it as such anyway in the hope of splitting it up and selling them off in future.

Agreed it's a nightmare scenario you'd arrive home from work thinkning you'd just turned up for a conference, and another thing; what's Norwegian Barn got to do with it? Looks nothing like a Norwegian barn. scratchchin
