He has around 150, and I doubt the collection is much more than $15million tops [that's taking an average value of $100,000 per car, and many he has are worth much less than that]. He has a big warehouse in Burbank, and employs a group of guys to service and maintain the cars.

It's really not a lot of money when you compare it to his actual wealth.
Shakotan you are out with your numbers i reckon.

Macca F1 2-2.5 million pounds
300 sl gullwing 3-500k us dollars if not more having been owned by leno.
Bugatti type 51 (one of which was bought in 2008 for 2.5 million apparently)
Bugatti type 37a x two value of 500k us dollars in 2007
Bugatti type 35b one of which sold for 600k in 2007
Bugatti Type 57sc Atlantic rebodied. Original go for 20million plus (one sold for between 30-40million a year or two ago) so goodness knows what his is worth.

Thats just a quick a small selection. He has various lambos bikes etc etc. What they cost him goodness knows. What the cars are worth now having been owned by him is anyoness guess.
a few Duesenbergs that are worth a couple of quid too, Pebble Beach standard
a miura - maybe 3 or 400k?
original GT40, serial number one!

OT, but I remember Jay Leno saying that he earn't around $100m annually from the tonight show annually, of which he banked ALL of it apart from what was needed to run his cars, and then lived of all the guest appearance $'s, talks, speeches/whatever else that he does.

How the other half live eh...

He has a Stanley Steamer and some other old steam car, no idea what they are worth now. Pretty rare though.

Because it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning

Depends on your definition of "fast". The generally accepted definition of a "fast car" is not just one that has a high top speed but also has strong acceleration. And torque is a major factor in acceleration, whilst power has more effect on top speed.

One of the first track days I ever did was before track days were even called that - an acquaintance had hired Castle Combe exclusively for the day - and the first thing the race instructor who took me out in my Corrado asked me wasn't "how much power does it have?" but rather "how much torque does it have?".

so if you think that torque has no relevance then perhaps "I'll be ignoring your opinion, ta". smile
