Yorkshire Big Breakfast - Easter Sunday 2012

had a good run up, apart from some f**king farmer leaving 100 yrds on muck on the road at crockey hill, slight issue parking, beached twice and ground spliter a couple of times. did a runner once the traffis died down a bit to go to inlaws for lunch & egg hunt, then found 4 sets of speed humps just south of norton, sneaked over 3 and ground on the last, removed a bit more fibreglass and paint, hey ho, apart from that a stunning road back down to wetwang & Middleton, might have to visit that again on a dry day with th R888's on LOL

You pulled onto the A64, infront of me on the bike. The amount of spray was crazy! Couldn't see a thing!!
Great morning, can't believe how busy it was, or should I say I can believe as its always a great event. Some awesome cars. Can't even pick a favourite.
One question though, I'm not 'up' on my Porsches, what was the one outside the garage, red, looked like a 964 turbo from behind, but had pop up headlights, a bit 944 looking, at the front?

As the organiser I have to disagree, we wouldn't have needed any police presence, and indeed didn't have for the first few events as people behaved themselves. When a couple of drivers started getting out of line last time they spoilt it for everyone else. If one of those drivers had got it wrong they would have been into the crowds watching and encouraging them and that would have put an end to the event for good. As it is the cops came, they kept an eye on things, they were good natured, at the end of the day most of them are petrolheads like us and they made sure that we can continue to run the event.
The police will be present at our future events, with 2000 plus people present there is no way we could guarantee a safe fun event without their assistance.
Why was a mobile police station required Mark? Last time I saw one of those I think it was in Salford just after the riots. I understand why they were there after the shenanigans last time but 3 police cars at the exit? Really? I hope that given this is a charity event the officers there were volunteering and yourselves or indeed us as taxpayers were not footing the bill. As mentioned in my previous post one single patrol car on the exit would have been ample to remind people to behave an more proportional to what happened before. I have attended many many events prior to "Nissangate" and they passed off without the need for any police attendance at all.The police will be present at our future events, with 2000 plus people present there is no way we could guarantee a safe fun event without their assistance.
This is a great event, one of the best in our area. Its just not a nice feeling to have such a big police presence and to made to feel like you are doing something wrong by attending. It was also nice previously to see the cars give a bit of beans on the exit (without getting daft).
I understand you have a balancing act to perform and it can't be easy but just feedback from "our" side of things.....
Keep up the good work and I will be calling in to buy a GT3 at some point in the next few years/decades.

Theyr brilliant handling! I'm sure the guy in the Punto Arbarth could vouch for that as he told me he nearly lost his back end trying to go through a corner at the same speed as me
