EXPERT TALKS

There will be a sign-up sheet for each talk at the raffle table on the day. The location of the table will be affected by which weather plan we have in place, but it will be central and obvious. Just ask a marshal if you cannot find it.

Our 2 speakers are giving their time freely and attending from a fair distance.

We will suggest a donation of £5 per person at the door for each talk, to raise important further funds for Children's Hospice South West. If you cannot give £5, please give as much as you can afford.

Of course, you do not have to donate to listen to the talks but please remember every penny we raise goes directly to the hospice.

While the event is ostensibly free, raising money for the charity is the main point behind Caring with Cars.

I don't think "Official Bottom Inspector" would cut much ice.
How much ice do you expect to be able to cut with your bottom?! hehe

Oh, how I've missed this.

Is there any chance of bringing the ZIL down the night before? I'll be a 30 mph road block off the M5 otherwise. Happy to be parked up in a side field where the 6WD won't care if it rains too much. I have a 20t tow rope, so should be able to pull people out if it gets muddy.

As the day's for charity, I was wondering how folks would feel if I asked for a donation to have a poke around at the radio gear in the rear body of the truck? I might even dress up in period costume...

Best wishes, Colin

Road Closure Warning

Guys, if anyone is planning to cut through Bristol City Center to get to the event, be warned that the Bristol 10K is taking part on the same date so there will be road closures around the City Center, Harbourside, Swing Bridge & Portway areas.
A cheeky bump for this info.

Nope, it's going to be blue skies and sunshine and we'll raise thousands of pounds. thumbup

No point being pessimistic when weather forecasts change every hour. Anything past a few days is really just a slightly educated guess. The forecast for where I am says rain at the moment, yet my arm is baking in the sun.

I agree

other day the forecast where I am said rain on and off all day - we had light rain for 10 minutes at about 12 o'clock and again for 10 minutes at about 4 o'clock

now those that only noticed these times will have forgotten the other 15 hours 40 minutes of daylight when it was dry and warm and often sunny

Hi Rob,

I can't see anything in my email from you yet. You sent it to me through my PH profile?

GATE OPENS 10AM

The 510 people registered to come to the event should aim to arrive AFTER 10 AM.

Those not registered, or are still in the reserve list at 8am, should not come to the event.

We can only give access to Caring with Cars to those who have registered.

Please do not arrive before 10 AM, as it'll only be a pain for us and of no benefit to you.

There is NO PUBLIC PARKING. Caring with Cars is not a car show. It's a private gathering for registered enthusiasts.

Cheers,

Graham

Yes I sent it through pistonheads, do you have a direct email if the PH system is playing up.

Yep - go to:

http://www.caringwithcars.com/register.asp

You'll see my email address on there. I'd rather not post it on the forum because of spam.

Last year someone posted up a word document template for folks to fill in there name/username/car details - any chance of doing the same again ?

ps
Just checked the weather forecast frown

Can we invite a weather forecaster along - then lock them in some stocks - perhaps sells folks rotten fruit to throw at them (proceeds to charity of course)
