Well done OP, if everyone had the strength of your convictions the country wouldn't be in this mess.....

Keep a shotgun by the bed. As long as he's moving towards you and not away from you then you'll be fine. smile

If he has any brains, he will realise that potentially being charged for witness intimidation will in the long run ensure the book is thrown at him.

Unfortunately I can spot one clear problem in the above scenario. Even the DC commented on what a spanner he was smile
Serious?

Ah fk it, I see you have already addressed this in the last line of your post. Must read the WHOLE thing before posting stupid comments.

Hi all,

Just a quick update. He is still in custody. I received a call from a DC in CID about half ten saying that he is a "bad lad" and I'm guessing from that that he has previous convictions.

Having thought about, I have decided that I can hardly moan and whinge about the lack of justice in the country if I do nothing to help it being carried out.

In light of this and the fact that regardless of the outcome it sends the wrong message to scribes if people do nothing, I have agreed to give a statement and let the dice roll on the consequences so to speak, for him and I.

The police are being remarkably efficient. They offered to come to my place of work straight away, but I have asked them to come to mine. Makes sense I thought as they can see where he stashed the bag etc.

So I am now at home awaiting their visit.

Felt it was the right thing to do.
Well done clap

Having had my house broken into a couple of weeks back, for the second time in 18 months, I wish there were more like you about, who report suspicious behaviour. This time they just kicked in my front door, and then the dead bolted downstairs doors.

I have said I would go to court if necessary, and I still will, but don't hold out much hope of getting my chance to do my civic duty, and help convict a criminal.

As an aside, I just happen to store an old desk under my bed, complete with steel legs, that still have the bolts in them for fastening them to the top. Purely as it is the only place I can find to lie it down flat. scratchchin

Well done OP!

The more people that stand up to these anti social thugs the better.

I had my first court appearance some years back after giving a statement about a drunk driver. He crashed into a lampost, drove off and left his car in the middle of an unlit road. When the police got to him he was tucked up in bed and denied it all. After seeing his driving and wondering if the lampost could have been a person I felt I had to give my statement and appear in court. He kept giving me evils and the court was told he was a thug with previous.

For a while I wondered if I would receive a kicking for doing my thing, but nothing happened and as has been said it very very rarely does.
