That M5 looks to be the same colour inside/out as my old one. Nice.

Low mileage and main dealer serviced E32 V12;

Love it. On the proper 415mm metric wheels too. cool

Shame that the driving seat looks significantly more worn than my 130k mile one - and that they're comfort rather than sports seats. It also has the slightly wallet friendlier LAD self-levelling suspension rather than the optional switchable EDC set-up.

Although having spent that much time sat around, I'd hope it's done so in a warm garage, else the fuel tank will be rotten. It's quite local to me too. If I had it spare, I'd rather throw the money that would likely buy that at getting my current one up to scratch.

Love the colour combination too. biggrin

nono

My issue there is with the spoon who parked the silver E39 the wrong way around. I don't mind nose in or nose out, just so long as they're all oriented similarly in a row. paperbag

Lovely selection of motors though thumbup

Although nose out makes sense for many more reasons, it's both easier to park big'uns that way and facilitates a prompt getaway, should the need arise...

Yup. One of the few cars I'd like to have kept.

hadn't realised you'd done a swap - intrigued what economy you eke out of the 740 too. My old 540 Touring averaged 23mpg, currently doing 24mpg including a fair bit around town in the 545. And already wishing again for the refinement of a 7, if not the size!
Can go as low as 17mpg when just shunting around town but on the usual commute is closer to 22mpg. Went to Oxford and back earlier and did just over 23mpg including congestion in town so not too bad. 750 resolutely did 17 everywhere.

Is a better drive than the 750 actually, and not just because of less weight over the front wheels. The suspension seems a lot less noisy and it just seems more relaxing to drive. I tend to happily mosey along at 70 to 80 whereas the V12 always seemed to be straining at the leash. Can see why the 8s were so popular.

Edit to add yes, changed a couple of weeks ago, got tired of the aforementioned 17mpg. Saw your E34 posts too....looks lovely that one smile

Not if it's a RWD auto. Plus the batteries are in the boots, so nose in is possibly entirely appropriate hehe

Whilst there are jump points under the bonnet, often they'll only respond to a hook-up directly to the battery.

?

0-60 in mid 6s and across 1000+ miles of mixed driving my OBC is showing 32.8mpg. It has serious midrange grunt.
I have the 4.4 V8 that is pretty much the same in all other respects as HR. Over around 5500 miles of mixed use, I'm averaging 25.3 mpg. That is quite a difference. You can nurse 30 mpg out of it at a steady 70 mph, but it's boring.

There's not a better colour for the E39. Gorgeous.
