Grey Ghost, that reminds me to remind you all once again about the Tour de France and how it will screw up your journey on the Wednesday/Thursday at Rouen. There will be detours in place and probably that'll cause delays. Read here for more details:-

If you aren't blatting (and most classics don't) then try and plan a route around Rouen if arriving on either of those days.
Many thanks for the heads up. I knew Le Tour was in the area but couldn't find any specific maps showing the route so the one you provided the link to is perfect. My colleague in the other TVR is very experienced in getting to Le Mans so we shouldn't have too much of a problem but if the roads near Rouen snarl up I guess we'll head over east of the river and then cut across at Oissel.http://www.rouentourisme.com/Default.aspx?tabid=31...

When I say "blatting" I mean being noisy
I prefer people to hear the car, see it and enjoy it these days rather than getting people to spin on the spot wondering "what was that?"
By the way, lovely Jag you have there

This looks like a suitable route to avoid Rouen.:

11km and only 15 minutes longer than going through the town, and there might be somewhere nice in Yvetot to grab a spot of lunch, and the drive through the forest looks nice. Certainly better than fighting the traffic in Rouen!
I have used that route around Rouen before when coming down the back roads and it is far more pleasant than going through the city.http://goo.gl/maps/rd5c

If you stop at Bourgtheroulde just south of your point B on the map, this village has a nice little high street with a few restaurant/cafes and is at the start of the old n138
