Well looks good to me and a lot more 'together' than some of the recent James Bond offerings

i will watch it and look forward to it but after seeing the cast etc are different and the fact the Bourne trilogy was so good this should not be the bourne legacy, mainly because Matt Damon = Jason Bourne and how can you have a Bourne film without Bourne?

IMO should go down the route of Ridley Scott's Prometheus and left the near perfect Bourne trilogy alone, it can be the Bourne Legacy/4th Bourne to fans but kept under a seperate name..

Actually bit more worried after this latest trailer...

For me, one of the compelling (and even haunting) things about the Bourne films was the impassiveness of Bourne when under stress - it's like it's just the training taking over, no anger, no aggression, just action...Then afterwards it's like he's 'woken up', back to being a normal person again.

Hope touches like this survive the translation to this new 'Bourne brand' film, it's really what helps to elevate the previous trilogy from being just dull, generic action films.

^^^^ This. Switch and it's stone cold killer time, excellently portrayed by MD and while Renner is a pretty decent actor, I'm not sure if it will be the same without Dammon.

Exactly!

I will watch it in the same way as I watched the Italian Job.

A reasonalbly entertaining film but trying to piggyback on the sucess of the original is noing to make fans disappionted by the new film and sully the reputaion of the original.

The Bourne Trilogy was OK.
I don't see why they stick this name on a fourth though, unless as said it will be like Bond, the name just moves from agent to agent.
It has Ed Norton, so hopefully it won't stink.

Must've seen the first 3 films about 20 times altogether...really looking forward to this. Will be interesting to see what Renner brings to the role.

When I heard about this and that MD was't in it I thought it would be crap. But the new trailer does look very good. Although I thought Prometheus looked good in the trailer and it wasn't.

All I have seen is the trailer, but I don't see what the new lead actor brings to it. We are about to see why Matt Damon was so good in the role, I reckon.

Harsh? Jeremy Renner is a pretty capable actor I think...given what he has done to date, you could argue it suits him more than Damon (based on what HE had done before)

You see this for me was one of the main reasons that the MD trilogy was so surprisingly good. MD really hadn't done any full on action roles before but his portrayal of Bourne was absolutely spot on.

Upon first viewing The Bourne Identity I was absolutely blown away by how MD could turn from this quite unassuming guy to a brutal stone cold killer, the fact that MD hadn't done anything similiar previous to this only served to heighten that effect.

I'd also have to say MD is a better actor (despite what Team America might have to say about it), sure some of his earlier efforts have been sub par but he also starred in some awesome character pieces, Good Will Hunting being a good example. Yes Renner is pretty decent too but so far for me MD has him pipped in the acting stakes.

Well I'm reserving judgement.....from what I've seen of Renner he is an equal when it comes to brooding and detached etc....Hurt Locker...The Town...

As far as a soldier turned elite assasin goes, he easily fits the mould.
True Damon came from nowhere to fill those 'action' boots, butt hat shock/disbelief only lasted one film...

He was very good in both Hurt Locker and The Town but not so much for me in the Avengers film. He seemed to have one default look throughout that whole film. It was supposed to be brooding\detached assasin but to me it just looked like he was constipated or the sun was in his eyes...for the whole two hours. His performances in the first two were much more natural where as in AA it looked like he was trying too hard to look like the "cool assasin".

Let's hope he brings more of the former and less of the latter to Bourne as I think the whole point of the Bourne films is that he isn't obvious.

Watch the trailer again. From what I can see they've gone about this quite cleverly, establishing a new "agent" with a plausible link to the original program and staff. The fact the film is called Legacy kind of points in that direction doesn't it?

Indeed the tagline itself is "There was never just one" and that supports what I guess will be the feel of the film.

I would have totally agreed with you if they just tried to reboot or to retell the same story with a different character but they're not doing that. Looking forward to this one.

That poster is absolutely terrible!

The typography alone is a nonsense.

Has anyone ever read a 'collaboration' book and thought it a patch on the big-name Author's own work?

I was conned into buying a Tom Clancy last year because they made the 'with Peter Tellep' almost invisible.

Utter tripe - I will NEVER buy another Clancy again on the strength of being ripped off to the tune of £10...

I read one of the Bourne books that wasn't part of the original trilogy (maybe Ultimatum? He was running a hotel in the Caribbean?) decades ago and found it rather heavy going.

Trailer looks a bit generic really, well enough done, but nothing special.
