Oh the irony...the Range Rover Club is on hardstanding!
So, how was the day, Havoc?
Instead of heading over this morning, I awoke to rain in Northampton and an urgent phonecall from the Stratos Club organiser informing me that our club's pitch had been moved to hardstanding because the weather had saturated our intended place & could I spread the word.
So, after doing that, I decided rather than stand in the cold and rain @ Silverstone, I'd go to the movies instead. I saw the new Batman movie. It's really good.
I'll be there tomorrow and Sunday. So, all's not lost.

Mostro - that's what it was when I left - definitely not normal trainer conditions, but not quite wellies unless you plan on cutting across the grass everywhere.
Blib - you made the right call - was pretty quiet on the club stands, paddocks were as cool as ever, but the qualifying was a little subdued by the weather, and they stopped it a little before 6pm because of a nasty bump (multi-car, I believe) ~Woodcote - conditions were too wet. Hadn't restarted by 6.40pm when I left, although the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to come out.
Be glad you're on hardstanding too - it was 'a little slippy' coming off our stand this evening. Honda (both), Porsche, Lotus and TVR all on grass...I am wondering if anyone got stuck, at least 2 S2000's needed assistance to get off their pitch today.
That said, this afternoon we rediscovered the rule that a Mk2 Escort, in the wet, is not permitted to drive in a straight line for more than 2 seconds! Driver looked like he was having a ball wearing those lock-stops out...

Really looking forward to this!
3rd date with a beautiful blonde, who is an utter petrolhead, good times!
Given the decent weather currently in Somerset (and predicted for Silverstone through Sunday) it would be great for a ground condition update this evening from those that are there, hope to bring the trainers not boots but don't want to look an iditot if I get caked in mud!

That's good to know as its the Sunday I'm going on.
Does anyone know of a timetable of events on the Sunday? It's the F40 parade lap I'm most interested in.
The parade lap is Sunday, from 12:10 until 12:40. With the F40s at the front. I shall be on the lap too, hopefully, look out for my somewhat less impressive Hawk. I'll be lurking somewhere near the back.Does anyone know of a timetable of events on the Sunday? It's the F40 parade lap I'm most interested in.
