Got me 5kg of Pea Protein delivered tonight (only £30!)- it's an.... acquired taste....
How come you choose that?
And does it taste like peas?
It is the most revolting protein powder I've ever tasted! vomit
What's it like 'downwind'?

Exclusion Zones and all that?
Seems alright, tastes a bit like peas, more savoury than sweet, mixes well too. Bought it cause it's cheap as chips (or peas), it's supposed to be as good other proteins (good AA profile etc) and it's a bit slower at being absorbed than whey, apparently.

As long as it does it's job I'm not too fussed.

Strange. I suppose you could add a bit of pepper and consider it to be a bit like tomato juice? Or drink it heated up like a soup if that doesn't ruin the properties you require.

I had it with milk, bran, berry juice and sugar last night....tasted a bit odd.

Master of understatement.

rofl

Right. If it tastes of peas/savoury, perhaps add peanut butter (use a mixer?), pepper, salt and chips.

This morning 1 mile open water swim at Box End lake near Bedford. Great facility.
I am jealous; especially after seeing the pricing! I really wish we had open water swimming near me.

Do you add salt and vinegar?

First PT session this morning:

Foam roller and warm up

then 3 sets of
250m row resistance 8 (+-45s)
10 x pushups
10 x wide grip pull ups (45kg assisted)
10 x shoulder press 8kg L&R
10 x Plank row
90s rest

move on to some free weights (I forget the name of it)
anchor one end of weight bar to floor, twist down to lhs and rhs waist and explode up 3 x 10: 5kg, 10kg, 12.5kg

10 minutes working on squat technique no weights just bar
Good to see you on here too!

The bar thing sounds like my Grappler - maybe 'landmines' or torso twists etc?

Lovely crisp boxing only session of 17 x 1 min rounds on my (brilliant!) Wrecking Bag - best I've ever had over all - with 30 second intervals. Mostly quick combinations with a few rounds of hooks, uppercuts and 2/3 technique drills.

A good rest may have helped because despite some doms in upper back and rear delts felt fast, loose and crisp tonight and free of some of the tightness I sometimes feel. Knackering but loved it.

I did legs today, my gym doesn't have a rack so had to settle for a smith machine but had a good session and I know they'll hurt in the morning!

Went back on the pre work out today for the first time in a while too, decided to try Jack3d again while I can still get hold of it, top stuff, gutted they are banning it.

Wow! I hadn't even thought of that. I may well look into that - £50 a year!

Many variations with regards to reps/sets and exercises you could do without using the smith.

First of my KB circuits on my "rest" nights from strength training.

300 reps of single handed clean & press, and swings, with an 8kg KB ( hehe )

I know that, but it's either use the smith, or don't squat when I'm at that gym

Pre breakfast session interrupted by an accident (as below)

150 lateral/front/bent raises

Face pulls - 70lb x 15

Single arm dumbbell floor press - 75lb x 39 with a v. short pause at 31 and longer one at 35

(for right arm, left lagged in reps & needed 3 slight breathers, c. 5 to 10 seconds each)

straight into

Feet raise push ups x 11, 10

Push ups x 11, x 14

Standing cable press - 70lb c. 5

This is where it all went wrong.

The cable (used for facepulls) was threaded through a D ring attached to a heavy bag chain looped over the wooden rafters in the garage, used to hang a maize bag also. Got to about 5 reps when there was an almighty crack and it snapped, hit me right on the base of the skull and bounced over me smashing into the garage door about 8 feet away.

Closest I've ever come to being knocked out - a massive crack and concussive feeling and sharp pain on the skull so fast it was hard to comprehend. A really sharp. 'hot' and 'black' pain if that makes sense - I really thought it would be cut open but can't find an open wound.

Now have a massive headache but the worst thing is a prickly, hot, sharp pain across the bottom of my skull just as the main 'curve' starts. It feels like hot liquid running around and leaking but there is no sign of blood and the skull feels intact though with a dent (natural?) in one place and a swelling just below it. I hope nothing is leaking internally and am now watching carefully for any signs of sickness or dizziness, if I get any I'll be off to Casualty.

Another needless dumb incident coming from using Jerry built/ad hoc equipment/layout! banghead literally!

There is no free bar to use variations on?
The variations mean you don't have to use the smith.
