I went to Waitrose today for the branded goods I need, quick easy and the prices are on a par with Tesco.

But for fresh quality meat, veg and fruit I go to our local garden center, Longacres is quality and not over priced; at the moment, who knows if the prices will go up when they get established.

Just warming up one of their huge sausage rolls as I type yum

We decided to do our weekly shop in Cirencester Waitrose the other week. Pretty similar in price to Tesco but a nicer place to be on a Friday evening. Unfortunately it's so much further away it just isn't worth it so back to Tesco.
It's barely a mile from Ciren Tesco to Waitrose, you must live in Siddington for it to make that much difference...

You should actually try listening to yourself. You sound like a complete Natalie du Toitfking .
Is the swear filter now going to be updated to stop us calling someone a Natalie?

And.... (apart from the people who have staff to do the shopping) what's going on? PHer men doing shopping, do you not have wives to do that? wink

I don't expect you to give a st one way or the other, but as I've already pointed out on this very thread, the whole "I have staff to do that for me" schtick is not funny and yet you mince in here and trot out the same old unfunny st.

It's nauseatingly boring and predictable and I have come to expect better from you.
I don't give a fk what you do or don't find funny. My butler informs me you dont control the internet, and I find this most amusing. So... get bent.

It's worth the square root of fk-all.

Do you honestly think anyone gives even the slightest st where you get your groceries from?

I'll tell you: No.

I will personally hunt down and murder with my own hands the next person to start a "My supermarket is posher than yours" thread.

wkers.

I don't use Waitrose - our nearest one is 17 miles away...
I'm lucky got one Waitrose 5 miles from my house heading towards Leicester, they are also building one 4 miles to the south in Market Harborough.

I like Waitrose because the service is good and their stores are quieter than the mainstream. I'm certainly not a snob as I also like shopping in Aldi, particular because their wine is cracking value.

Just to confuse matters, housemates works for a food company. Tescos are overhauling a lot of their food ranges.

Quiches for example are the best quality you can get from any supermarket today, which includes quality & amount of meat etc. Soon other ranges will undergo a similar overhaul such as pies.

This assumes we all buy ready made food instead of buying the ingredients and making our own quiche/pies/whatever...

Never underestimate the knicker-loosening power of a scratch-cooked quiche.
