That's not something you don't need - it's something you most definitely do.

In fact, if you don't need it, I'll relieve you of it smile
I've got about 3kg of KNEX I've been meaning to get rid of for a while if you're interested

I want it, I don't need it. Kind of the whole point of the thread.
Got my eye on another 20kg box at the moment as well...

I sold a good amount of my lego star wars army (in fact, the entire clone wars division) last weekend frown

The flipside is that the procedes are looking to go to something even dafter to purchase, namely a pug 106 rallye which will be 99% used for recreational hoonage.

Update on the Raspberry Pi, switched it on. Had a go online switched it off. The wife came home asked why did I buy it and what does it do so switched it on to show her. Been off since last Wednesday but I have bought a case for it. So what can I do with it?

I bought one ages ago - it sat in a box for about 2 months - I turned it on, got it working, got a decent PSU, played with it... And... Got immensely bored and sold it. I don't miss it....

Had my Pi since launch, haven't even switched it on to check it works. I think I'll go for making a basic NAS drive when I eventually get round to it.

So I'm buying a house in September. So I need power tools yes? I've been wanting a dremel for a while, but couldn't justify the price of the cordless 8200 model. So I head to B&Q and stumble across the Ryobi equivalent, which sadly isn't cordless, but is much cheaper. After a little umming and ahhing, I purchase it and scurry off home to drill random holes in furniture, feeling very pleased with myself for taking the sensible option. The next day I decide I need some accessories, so head to another B&Q, where I discover they have the top dremel cordless model on sale. So I buy it. I now have 2 rotary tools, with no real use for either. Whoops.

I forgot I had one, my son found it behind the sofa. I'm not sure if it works or not.

In other news, I have a £150 voucher for Amazon that I need to spend, my wife would like a new lawn mower. I don't. We have one already, that would be a waste of money to buy another one. What else can I spend it on?

I bought a cordless impact wrench for changing wheels at track days. It wasn't powerful enough to undo the nuts without loosening them first. So it never got used. I don't even know where it is now - perhaps I sold it although I don't remember.

Also bought a small fire safe in CostCo a few months back. The idea being to do backups to an external HDD which would be kept in there when not being backed up to. Currently the HDD is sitting on my desk and the safe is empty, and it's been like that for a month or so. So that really worked. paperbag

I think cathartic and therapeutic are closely related, in this context at least. smile

Not frivolous really as it's a purchase for my business, although I could have bought another Microserver.

HP ML310e G8 + an additional 16GB RAM. I suppose it would have been more frivolous if I'd bought an additional 32GB RAM

Arrives tomorrow and I'll be running ESXi (or whatever it's called this week) and a load of Oracle Databases with iSCSI running on my MicroServer.
Wow! and I thought my self assembled X6600 WHS2011 box was frivolous... any links where I can get more info on this beast?

edit : Ah just re-read and found out its for business use biggrin Makes sense then as mine is personal use... :P

just wait, once you actually start doing any kind of work in the new house, you'll need all sorts of lovely powertools. I think my rotary hammer and angle grinder are my two favorite tools, i get giddy everytime i get to put one of them to use.
