Hey Neil, that engine lifting eye looks a bit flash! Puts my Flying Fortress bomb hoist and webbing, complete with granny knot into the shade. No rude comments about my immaculate garage please!

With my car finally finished for the summer, today was the ideal day for a tax disc and a long drive. Everything was going brilliantly until as I was going though a very congested Ware high street, the biting point on the clutch was right at the very top and pulling away was a nightmare. So as Bespoke Performance were just around the corner I popped in to have confirmed that I most likely need a new clutch. Fantastic!

Never a dull moment when you own a TVR eh?!

Edit- I went up to the garage this evening and thought I would see what it was like when it was cold and it seems a lot better confused Going to take it out for another run tomorrow to see what the deal is.

Fitted the doors this weekend. I think restoring the doors and internals and then fitting them has been the most difficult job so far. Both doors fit (of sorts!) open, close and lock and the windows go up and down. Other than that the least said the better!

Not much, just a little fiddling with positioning the pedal assembly. None the less, very happy as it's the first activity in almost exactly four months.

Finally got around to fitting new column bushes in the steering column. Needed to relieve the column a little to get the tabs to slide in, a good smear of vaseline and a prod with a screwdriver to squish the ears in.

Can't believe how long it's taken to get back to that!

Neil, I can't see clearly from those pics but there's some mod going on there relating to the lower arm and the relative position of the pivot rod. What's does this enable, what's going on?

Cheers,

Really really nice looking Vixen you have there Andy. And that colour makes me want to run my tongue along it! Is it Lambo/Focus orange?
Despite the age of the Vixen design, seeing yours in that condition and with that paint job makes the years roll off her. Well done that man.

It lives and moves under it's own steam (literally at one point due to dodgy rad cap, biggrin)
As you can probably tell from the video, I was quite pleased, biggrin

Finally running again after 42 years! Not a TVR, but it was blocking the Griffith 200's exit from the garage.

Hi Neil,

Exhaust design is mine, fabrication was by Graham Frankland at Exhausts by Design. Coating by Zircotec.

The water rail is by Raceline. I also have their wet sump. Both excellent quality.

Cheers

Pardon my French, but.........I led the pack over them 'long streches of cobbles', hence I was the fastest, and......nothing has fallen of my car/needed attention, so, Mr. Pridaux, i can only assume there was maintainance overdue on yours !!! (you, cheeeky bafoon, you !) (lol)

Seriously, have you also checked the track-rod ends/steering rack for play and the bushes at the steering column, as there shouldn't be any loose-ness there ?

Just removed the previous low quality air filters and replaced with a pair of new Eurocarb items to fit the twin 40's. If anyone's interested, although rather fiddly, you can just get a pair of 63mm deep filters to fit in the gap on a Vixen S3 (cable clutch). These now house a new pair of 38mm trumpets as there were none fitted previously. Runs a touch quieter/smoother and strangely have lost the spitting back through the carbs. Shame as I liked that.
