Interesting first point. Do people actually go out looking specifically for a new Vauxhall? I can't believe that!
Why wouldn't they ?Or is this a silly continuation of the "Vauxhall are teh worst evah" attitude that exists on here, that no-one can actually explain ?
Holy thread resurrection!
I did a search and this thread came up, I test drove one of these today and have to say I rather liked it. I should add at this point that I won't be paying for this car, it will be a company car which needed to be comfy, 4x4, diesel, sat nav, toys and not ruin you from company car tax.
I'm getting the Mokka Tech Line 1.7 diesel 4x4.
The interior was comfortable, had all the toys I need/like, the engine was pokey enough for the day to day tasks, it handled quite sharply and the ride was smoother than my Mondeo. Granted, the one I test drove was silver, with a blue/brown dash board
but the spec I'll have will be black interior, with a nice metallic blue exterior.
The best bit is it means I can sell my Mondeo ST which i've been using for work, and get myself a toy for the weekends/evening
My boss looked at a few cars including the Kia Sportage, Ford Kuga et al but cost wise against spec this worked out the best and I'm not complaining

Usual Vauxhall bashing on pistonheads then. The OP hates the Mokka. Fair enough. But likes the Nissan Juke because its different! And yet its 100 times worse looking than the Mokka. If Vauxhall built the Juke he would probably hate it...
Personally these mini suvs aren't my cup of tea. But I don't see how the Mokka is any different from the Kuga, hyundai ix35, mini countryman or any of that current fashion of car.

Isn't it just a rebadged opel mokka which is German? Unless its a rebadged American design but seems a bit small for them.
Good point, it might well be. telecat said:
Opel get the Astra from Vauxhall. They are made in Liverpool. Like most makers these days they are made wherever they have capacity.
Correct, but the car is an Opel, Vauxhall buy the cars from them (or a license to make them). They do (or rather did) the same with Holden to bring the VXR8 in.Vauxhall do not design or create anything, it all comes from Germany.
My astra was actually made for Vauxhall by Opel in Belgium (at least thats how I understand the deal worked then).

I saw an advert for this steaming, freshly laid stool last night. Jesus Christ. If that's the best GM can do, they should give up now. Not just the dreary, generic lifestyle advert but the thing itself.
After my initial knee jerk reaction to the Nissan Juke, I now don't mind it because they made it so different to everything else and it sells like hotcakes.
And the name - Mokka. Yeah, rolls around nicely on the tongue when preceded by Vauxhall, doesn't it? Bet they were up all f

Compared with its competition I think it looks pretty good. Dare I ask (and this is aimed at someone that actually knows the answer rather than the standard 'it's s
t' comment), what's the 4x4 version like on moderate rough stuff?
Would it handle let's say, a beach?
Should be ok depending on the type of sand , bearing in mind the tyres are road not mud pluggers ,ours was fine in the last lot of snow .
