Metalman, if you can clarify the queries raised by Locky74 on the grade of stainless to be used, and the answers are positive, then I'll be up for a set too. I'll watch this post with interest and respond in due course.

Yes I'll contact them tomorrow regarding the material to be used, it obviously has to be up to the job or I wont be having any made at all. Once I have details I'll post them up here and if anyone else has any ideas worries or suggestions then please contact me.

Yes same idea, the 5 speed will have two smaller ones and the 6 speed will have one of each. Depending on the numbers I may be able to include hub nuts but dont hold me to it.

Sounds good, I will be interested if they can include the nuts all depending on numbers of course.

Hi lockey74, I agree totally that these are important components on the car and need to be safe and its the only thing that worries me doing a group buy. I may be wrong with the grade of stainless but he did explain to me how it needs to be something that has a tendency to flex rather than fracture, he also said the spindles will be certified. They are busy making components for F1 and indy car and that's why I chose them. I appreciate your input and will discuss your points with him as the main reason for doing this is to make the car safer, not dangerous.
Hi Metalman, I didnt want to throw a spanner in the works but I thought I should say something. I have been in engineering all of my working life and I have seen some sights!yikes
If you want piece of mind I can always double check the material grade that they are using? Just let me know what it is and I'll look into it if it helps.

No problem at all, I'm no expert in engineering so any advice like you have given is much appreciated. The reason I've chosen this engineering company is because they tend to make a lot of motorsport parts, some of their alloy uprights make ours look like antiques. I will find out what material they will be using and let you know, it's always good to have a second opinion.smile

Ok time for an update. After a few conversations with the engineering company and Steven (Lockey74) we now have the spindles sorted. They are going to be made from EN24T which I'm told is a toughened material and has been recommended by Steven and the engineer so I'm confident they will be superior to the origional noble items. I'm also going to be supplied a certificate of conformity from the engineering company. I've given them a new bilstein hub to work out spline dimensions etc and they have been drawn and we're ready to go once final numbers have been confirmed so anyone interested please add your name to the list.
I must also say a big thanks to Steven for his help and giving his expert opinion thumbup
