110/bhp per a litre is cracking. This is how it ranks. Pretty good I think.

I'd love to keep going but the power just keeps going up and up the rev range .. need some better bottom end components to really push things to the next level I think. I daren't rev a std engine past 8k. It might be fine for a while, but you just know that sometime it's going to throw something through the side ..

Great result and really good to see how things have progressed on the S6 side over the years, both in options and results.

I've had my Tuscan 10 years now and I remember the early dark days when Joolz wouldn't even consider remapping a S6 in case it blew up on his RR.

Grand effort joolz but I have always found the 3.6 gutless, would be interesting to see you work your magic on a 4.3/4.5 with all that extra torque to play with wink

There are 4.0 engines out there with the same torque as a 4.3 (and very close to the 4.5 numbers), so it would be very interesting indeed....

Joolz
Can we have a 'summary' of the changes that lead to these super figures (without giving away too much to the competition !!)

It's interesting but for me i'd never use the word 'gutless' for a 3.6. It's such a sweet and refined engine. For me the bigger ones lack that level of class.

With the bigger engines an English country lane becomes a series of aggressive point and squirts whereas with the 3.6 it's so easy to link all the corners together into a harmonic blend.

It obviously boils down to personal taste but I think it has the greatest character and is the most classically English of all the TVR units.

a good exhaust, flowed intakes, racier cam timing, short induction airbox, a little bit of porting on the head, total seal piston rings and a remap.

What about the bottom end Joo, you mentioned making it stronger?

Would be interesting to compare graphs as from my understanding the headline figures may be similar but the 4.3/4.5 have a lot more torque down the rev range.

No probs - mine is here:

There is a Wiki in the Sag forum showing outputs of modified S6 cars (I should really ask for a mod to move it in here...)

You are right, generally there is more torque down low for the 4.5 cars for sure. The new VCT should help with horrible dip in the torque curve it currently has, but the utter joy you feel when the engine comes on cam and starts to sing...

Very impressive bhp headline figures, interesting when you compare your torque figures with getsis 4.5

FFF 2
3000 260
3500 305
4000 340
4500 350
5000 360

4.5
3000 315
3500 330
4000 360
4500 370
5000 365

But like you and DApple have said above its all down to what you want from a speed six engine, if you could combine the two it would be a epic engine.
