Not a drinker or a smoker. But I do have a nice box of cigars, for special occasions. I have had one of them, to celebrate Chelsea winning last year's Champion's League, and I hope to have another this evening when they win the Europa Cup smile

its a bit stalled at the moment - we've seen the property but the planning etc is taking its time. the landlord is dragging his heels over this too.

i'm going to see some alternatives this weekend.

I love cigars and I love whisky but I don't enjoy either together.

So beer it is. Something good though, maybe a nice Benediktener Weissbier.

Warm summer night, cold crisp bier, full-bodied monte cristo. Oh yes.

Double nonsense! I've never seen any evidence of your love of Whisky, and there's no such thing as a warm summer night in Scotland tongue out

I like a nice brandy on the very odd occasions I can enjoy a cigar personally.

Where's the middle-finger emoticon when you need it?

Seriously, I find that cigars kill the whisky. I'm not a brandy man and port is purely for cheese so beer it is!

Stunning - at 7.4% it's not a session beer but well worth tracking down. They also did a spiced rum version but the original rum finish (used to be called rum cask) is simply divine.

I hope you keep them in a humidor or if they're left over from last year they'll be dead by now.

No need. They are in sealed glass tubes which keeps them good for at least a few years. The last box I had for almost five years and they were fine - in fact, they seemed to get better as they aged!

That looks lush, any recommendations for a supplier?

I'm (very) new to this cigar business, but I particularly enjoyed a glass of laphroaig with my romeo and juliet no. 2 the other day. I did feel the whisky overpowered the cigar quite considerably though so if anyone could recommend a better match that would be brill.

A glass of girly goo from a Lewinsky Furry Cup.

Then give the leftover cigar to Yasser Arafat.

The whisky Innis and Gun ale was fantastic, however supermarket seem to have stopped selling it.

As it's that time of year, I hope nobody minds me bumping this thread.
I find mixing a cigar with a good single malt is a fruitless exercise - as others have said the flavours are cancelled. A shame, because they always seem to come out at the same time wink

So recently it's been cognac - but I have been looking into vintage ports for research purposes.

A good quality Armagnac for me, or a decent aged rum - Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva at the moment.
