So the Tuscan's gone, Chim is about to go up for sale, what is the natural replacement?

Corsa VXR of course!

Took delivery yesterday and after ringing it's neck on a 120 mile round trip of gorgeous B roads and motorways I am very impressed. I had forgotten how much of a hoot a light pokey fwd car can be. Needed a four seater for few years and thought about barging it but the potential bork factor put me off. It was very cheap (and I mean very) on a two year lease.

So all you oldies in fast rwd cars don't forget the joys of something like this.

Off to get me bass fitted and a Burberry baseball cap now!

I think they look great but I've no idea what the VXR drives like, I have had the unfortunate experience of hiring a cooking model for a couple of weeks.

Jesus Christ it was shyte, I'm assuming the VXR is a much different fish.

I test drove one at a local VX dealer and found it numb to drive. I really don't like the quater windows and MPV style long dash, but worse was the actual driving feel. It was lacking something.
It had a thorney motorsport stage 1 too, but wasn't ballistic although I think it was only about 15bhp more.
Shame as I really wanted one till I drove it.

I think it's because I have not driven a warm/hot hatch for years that I found it amusing. I wonder if the novelty will wear off?
It feels quick, with very good responses to any input. 3+23 @ £160 (inc VAT) and £170 insurance.

Needs must I'm afraid frown. Tuscan was 18 months of expensive fun, Chim just not being used. If the sun is out the bike comes out, Chim was just being used for a 6 Mille traffic ridden commute which was killing it and not much fun. All part of the plan to make space/funds for the old 911 itch I need to scratch again.

That does seem incredibly cheap!

Used to have one a few years ago, thought it was a hoot! To me it felt like a slightly scaled down golf mk5 gti, very responsive throttle and steering. Would have another.

Only when mapping them beyond their capabilities, so I've read. It's a bit of "Thorney" issue amongst VXR owners.

FWIW, I like the Corsa VXR, it's little and they are pretty nippy and can be a right laugh with a good exhaust on.

That's the problem, the best thing about them is the seats.

Having had one of these along side one of my TVR's (think it was when I had my Griff 500) I ended up giving it the Mrs to drive. I just felt the need to thrash it round like I was 17 again and it was great fun!
Guess it's the type of car it is but I could see points coming so gave it to her!
