Don't worry, someone will be along in a minute using the words/phrases "bought it", "no class". "the new Chelski", "empty seats", "shambles" or something similar to put us right/keep us uptodate (no one else seems to be updating this)

So Mancini is gone. I can't say I'm that bothered, although I'm not generally one in favour of sacking managers - especially one who has won so much in so short a time.
However, he never really convinced me - he always seemed too rigid and to much of the opinion that 'Manchester City' was sepearte from Roberto Mancini. When things went right he took the credit, and when things went wrong he blamed the players, the staff, the PR department - everyone but himself.
He's bought some great players, but he's also bought some duds, and he hasn't brought through any of the young players. We have, at Manchester City, a 21 year-old player by the name of John Gudetti, who was on loan at Feyernoord when he was 20. In 23 appearances he scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists - he was the first player since 1963 to score 3 consecutive home-game hat-tricks. He has been back at the Ethihad all season and yet has not played a single minute of first team football. Chances are that had Mancini stayed he would have wanted to go - and who can blame him? And of course for every one that leaves for lack of oppoirtunities, it becomes harder to recruit new, young players. The owners want City to win things and comply with the financial fair-play regualtions, which isn't going to happen if young players are never given a chance and you rely instead on buying in players.
It's not hard to see what the owners meant by a holistic approach to running the club, bus sadly the media have presented this statement as though it were 2 parts cryptic crossword and 3 parts David Brent. (In the same way that Cantona's 'seagulls' quote was presented as cryptic and crazy in equal measure, when in fact it was neither.)
I shall wait and see who comes in. Pellegrini looks a strong candidate, but I wouldn't mind Rafa either. I could do without Mourinho and his sideshow. I would like a manager with better English that Mancinin thoguh - I always found I had to concentrate quite hard to understand him, and was always left with the sense that he couldn't quite find the words to express himself exactly as he would in Italian, which must have made his job and that of the players more difficult.
On a side not I see we are linked with Jesus Navas and Cesc Fabregas. Obviously City are somehow using my Fifa 09 playstation Fulchester squad as a template, in which case I'd advise them to not bother with Navas but to get Fabregas and also Stevan Jovetic who is currently linked with Arsenal. And remind the management that there is no better defender (on Fifa 09) than our very own Micah Richards.

agree with most of that, but in bobby's defence, guidetti was struck down with a virus that left him with no feeling in one of his legs last summer. he's only been back playing for a month or so.However, he never really convinced me - he always seemed too rigid and to much of the opinion that 'Manchester City' was sepearte from Roberto Mancini. He placed the ad himself but if Fergie had done it, over the last 3 years he'd probably need the same lens from the same distance?
Luckily for our photographer they don't give trophies for the 3 0ut of 4 derby wins over the last couple of years
Read today Roberto had also sent all the female staff huge bunches of flowers. Smooth old devil
