Have to say after using Strava a few times and being a user of Endomondo. I actually prefer Endomondo...
Sorry Strava fans.
they both have strengths, endomondo with its live updates online and strava with the segment leader boards. I tend to track road rides with endomondo so the missus knows how I'm doing then upload to strava later. Sorry Strava fans.
off road the sample time is too slow on endomondo so I use my tracks and upload to both later.

I'm getting peeved with Strava. On HTC it missed the odd segment, on my IPhone it is terrible and rarely picks them up. Plus the GPs has started dropping out mid ride. Very frustrating.
I'm getting peeved with Silverstone. In my F1 car I used to be able to lap it in 1 minute 20, but in my new minibus it takes me over 3 minutes. Very frustrating.okgo said:
I can't see what possible reason you would want endomondo over strava for?
I ride on my own a lot, endomondo updates online so it means the wife can check every now and then on her phone that I am still moving. also if I am running late she can see how far away I am. you can't do that on strava. Not of use to everyone obviously

Just had my first noticeable GPS failure on a ride today. Was a little disappointed when I got in and uploaded the ride, that my top speed was only 34mph, when it felt very fast (for me) - well into the 40's I'd guess. Another fast downhill section wasn't showing at a glance on the graph on the iphone app.
When I got the chance, had a look at the full details using the laptop, only to discover some seriously long, perfectly straight lines! I'm not bothered about any segments missed, particularly, but it means I've been cheated out of several miles, and a couple of record top speeds. Balls.

Strange how my iPhone app ends up having pretty much identical data to my mates Garmin as well as other iPhones. I am sure that the iPhone app gives spurious readings.
There is a chap local to me who seems to rack up dozens of KOM's yet has a relatively low average speed on almost all of his rides, and at best rides 80 miles a week.
He took a KOM riding solo this week on a segment that I rode chaingang a month or so ago with some very accomplished and fast riders. We were breathing through our chamois by the end of this 2 mile segment and only managed to place 4th, yet this chap smashed us riding solo by several seconds.
All of us use Garmins and had exactly the same readings over the section, this chap uses iPhone app - go figure.......
