I'm hoping to do Silverstone again this year but usually go in the daily drive so I can take my bike and have a pedal round all the circuit.
Daily drive ?

Ah ! Sorry, dumb moment - for some reason I thought you were talking about a special access ticket !

A bike is not a bad idea though - I wonder whether the Brompton would fit in the boot of the TVR??!!

Fantastic Stuart you must be so pleased and frustrated at the lack of servo but not too much longer now. Where did you get the V8S sticker for the plenum?

Hi Paul

Yes but I guess two weeks will go pretty quickly!

The V8S badge on the plenum is made of carbon fibre. Mike arranged it - I'm sure if you send him a message with your request he can send you something in the post. It can say anything you'd like it to...

Right, in that case, I'm defintely up for the Silverstone Classic and just need to work out which of the days to go. Probably Sunday is my guess. Are there any concessions available on tickets ? I know the Porsche club ususally get concessions - I'll try and find out.

Classics on the Common is in Harpenden on Wednesday 31st July. It's strange that it's always on a Wednesday afternoon but seems to work well. If you fancy going you're best to send an application form in ASAP for a place - the show has 1200 classic cars on display, making it one of the largest in the country. If you don't get a place it's a bit of a nightmare tbh as Harpenden is so busy and there is nowhere to park.

Joe's pretty local aswell - maybe he'll join us for COTC too ?
Entry form sent bounce
Finger crossed.whistle

Thanks for the heads up.
If Joe comes, 3 Grey V8S's... Great photo possibilities me thinks

Harpenden? Possibly. I went two years ago and swore I’d never go to that one again! Massive queues to use the toilets in the pub because the organisers didn’t lay on any porta-loos. Chaotic traffic, no effective marshalling so it took me 90mins to cover the last mile; it would have been so easy to allow exhibitors to filter off at the cricket club and go around the back of the common, and then allowing cars to triple park so there was no way of getting out again. Nightmare! Loads of lovely cars sure, but Toy Town organisation. The event has outgrown the abilities of the organisers. Rant over - I’ll put my soap-box away now biggrin

Oh dear. Not keen Joe ? ;-)

The key is to get there early and be happy to leave your car there until 8ish. At that point the crowds disperse.

Mike just sent me some better photos to keep me going whilst the brake servo is off being reconditioned.

The headlight surrounds are missing as the headlights need to be aligned when it goes for it's MOT.

Mike has also updated his website with the progress:

Make sure you take the headlight rings with you for MOT - otherwise they should theoretically not pass it due to the presence of sharp edges, I don't know what the exact phrase is they use.
