Just picked up a 1999 Nissan Primera GT LE, with 49k on the clock, every MOT to back it, 6 months tax and test, immaculate leather interior, everything working and with exceptional handling for the princely sum of.....£725!

The only problems I can find is that rust has started to appear on the arches, early enough though that its nothing that a flat back and repaint wont sort.

God knows why I am again looking at big mpv's. Have a strange fascination with Grand Espaces, but they aren't for this thread.

Anyway, this has been loved. £999 1 owner and a tad more reliable than French tat.

I need help don't I hehe

Its rather tidy overall. Not too far, 3 hours down on the train and a quick (very quick actually wink) shoot back up the A9.

The Micra is currently a bit dead, i'm tempted to tell my mechanic to keep it...

Brilliant buy - I had one as a loan/hire car for a month in 98'ish when my company car died. Was surprisingly good fun to drive and equally happy cruising at 90 on the motorway or hustling down a B road.

biggrin It is superb through the bends and as my trip home (and my commute to the shops) involves a B-road mountain pass I had rather alot of fun. On the straights I just dawdled but as soon as the corners re-appeared...biggrin

Too many brilliant cars around at under £1000, I wish I had more money for all of them.

I'll get some pics of the beasty tomorrow and post it in readers rides.

yes 7 seats was available. they are big cars and a petrol i guess wouldn't suit the car unless you take it softly.

I like that, but the GDI lumps in the Charisma (poor choice of name) and the 40 series Volvos were prone to coking up.

I want it just because its nicely presented on a monoblock drive infront of an open garage. Such things draw me in on any shed priced car.

I believe they rust like hell on the surfaces and bulkhead which leads to their death. Hopefully yours is ok.

Well The rust which is currently there seems to be just starting, so I've got a chance to address it now properly before it gets really bad. Or just leave it as its a snotter.

It's got a slightly rough idle, the tiniest murmur, but I think that's because it's barely been used in the past few months.

And the interior is damn comfty.

7 seats but stupidily rear facing, whereas 307 sw has proper forward facing (and 307 sw 7seat has rather cool panoramic roof)

Wonder if a halo effect from prices of Mk1 and mk2 Golfs will begin to influence Mk3 prices soon? Lets hope so....... wink

That Golf is quite tempting, actually. What do you need to look out for on these? (If I were to run it for 20k miles a year)

Just realised I wrote surfaces when I meant to say subframes! Probably worth having a look under yours if you can.
