Ok fair comments, although I had the same said to me more than a few times when I lived in Scotland so personally I know it as more of an insult. How about Mr McKenzie, shall I tell him to expect your letter about UKIP's racism?
scratchchin

Hmm McKenzie?

Isn't that a Scottish name?

More of a Herald man myself...
So, no answer there then? Why am I surprised? Your god is Alex Salmond after all.

You asked a question?

Diddums. Try being more tolerant.
I'm more than happy for his public persona to receive exposure. smile

His public persona!

How?? Are these friends illegal immigrants or criminals?
If not - how on earth could they be affected??
They have different foil embossed pictures on their nice maroon passports and no visas or work permits.

(not effected BTW).
There you are correct.

Winston McKenzie:
Winston is probably the hardest working political candidate in British history - is there a party he hasn't been a member of, been a candidate thereof, failed to retain his deposit for, and within a week or so resigned from and joined a different one?

That being said, he was an All England boxing champion....which given that he's a McKenzie probably annoys the tits off the NATS that he didn't try for the All Scotland title instead.

Is he still a 'Kipper, or has he moved on yet? As far as I can tell he's trying to work his way through the British political system in alphabetical order, so I would assume the Vegan Party Of Great Britain would be next....

Well I implied but that's obviously too subtle for you. Okay then, in plain English: are UKIP racist? If you say yes then tell me why you think so. Maybe you can watch this video of UKIP member Sanya Jeet Thandi while you ruminate?

I know what you mean, although he has always stood on an independence platform. The main reason I linked to him however is that this man who describes himself as "proud to be British and black" is a member of a party that some here label racist.

That would be 'no'. So you are just a prejudiced bigot then, nice.

Illegal immigrants.
They should be deported then, sorry. If you like them so much why don't you go live in their country instead?

Wanting the UK to have border controls like the USA is hardly xenophobic or homophobic is it?. Would you like to have a rage against the USA now then?

No, but they are xenophobic.

They seem to seek to appeal to those that see life as a zero-sum game and presume that someone else is enjoying their good fortune...

No.

They don't need visas or work permits because they have nice maroon EU passports; works for them, works for me.

I just might, but which to choose? smile

I value my European citizenship much more than my UK citizenship. If Scotland remains in the UK and the UK leaves the EU I will take measures to keep my passport maroon, a new piccy on the front will just be a bonus...

No.

The SNP are pretty internationalist.

The UK used to be a good thing for both Scotland and England, it hasn't really served either well since WWII and the end of Empire.

It's time for a new start, to seek new synergies. smile

If they are having a positive effect, then UKIPs policy would still allow them in.

Have you read any UKIP policies or just using the Force?
I confess I've paid no more attention to UKIP than I have to any other party with <1% popular support and my interest has only been piqued by their sudden surge in popularity doon the road.

All I get are the same anti- this that and the other (especially the other!) pronouncements that make the press.

If they're happy for EU peeps to live and work here, great. smile

Perhaps, I'm actually undecided.

But the latest round of "you know what" this week has skunnered me no end.

Even so, there are NO leaders of any Party that to my mind show the intellectual and moral leadership required to lead Scotland to prosperity. There's just too much blue sky waffle/pr sound-biting and not enough Iron Maiden....

I am pretty impressed by most of UKIP's policies (found here) until I come across this :

SOCIAL ISSUES: UKIP has been vocal in its opposition to what it sees as "political correctness" in public life. It also argues that multiculturalism has "split" British society. It would legislate to allow smoking in pubs, in designated rooms, and hold local referendums on repealing the hunting ban.

Not very sure about this one... hint of BNP there.
Which bit? Looks very sensible and libertarian to me.
The bit where it says "multiculturalism has split British society". Don't mind the smoking and hunting ban bit...
That must make Cameron a BNP member then, right?

I think this is what the kippers fail to see.
Essentially, if you take most of the nasty, spiteful, blame-game ideology out of the Tory doctrine you have..... UKIP.
In my mind there is absolutely no doubt that disgusted of Tunbridge Wells would vote UKIP. Says it all really rolleyes
