You sound like Malcolm McLaren in a funky scarf.

This is not a good thing.

It is quite pretentious, albeit involving Doctor Who.

Just sayin'

I've just watched the episode 'Blink' on Watch. It shows how crap the current series is. OK 'Blink' was the best episode of all time but it just shows that it was a different type of program then, there was actually something to think about and an interesting plot.

Ignoring the resident oddball, has anyone actually looked up the spoilers?

They're actually quite tricky to find, some are speculating its just BBC hype. Those Clara screenshots seem to support what some are saying though....

On a bit of a tangent.
After watching Benedict Cumberbatch in the new star trek film, I think he would make an excellent Dr who, especially if the writer’s supplied him with more cerebrally coherent stories and dialogue than what we have in Who at the moment.
He comes over as a very likeable chap too.

Considering a previous Cumberbatch role, I always saw Dr who as a sort of Sherlock Holmes character anyway. Using intelligence as his tool of trade.

The BBC would probably never be able to afford him now that he's gone into films though I'd imagine. Unless he wanted to do it.
When we changed to Matt Smith I remember him saying he didn't want to do it as he didn't want all the non-TV bits that went along with Dr Who (face on lunchboxes, etc.).

There probably aren't actually any out there, just as maybe some of the obsessive "fans" in this thread may simply have their tongue firmly in their cheek smilebefore posting increasingly bizarre posts

You would crack yourself up as I got several e mails from people asking for the "episode torrent link"smile

FWIW I think the programmes fine some episodes are better than others but it seems to be one of those shows that people have "expectations" of and they then get upset when those expectations are not met in some way, it's just a TV programme that doesn't always make sense but then again the James Bond Timeline doesn't always make sense either

I agree with you & think that DW is a show that seems to peak at the end of every series, but some episodes can be quite mediocre building up to that peak. The show has done this repeatedly for a while now & I can think of many episodes like the one with Moreen Lipman as the wire, or last series with the robot cowboy sheriff for example that were only mediocre.

It would be impossible to make every episode a "don't blink" episode & I think this series is good & certainly no worse than any other & is again building up to a peak.

Some US series's have mid season finale's and have a couple of weeks break in the middle, perhaps they should do that here to cut some of the bullst mediocre episodes we seem to get mid season.

As for the theory of who/what oswald, maybe she is the greatgrandaughter of lee harvey oswald...

I don't (really don't) want to appear pendantic but that mid season finale thing is just what Dr Who over here has had for the last 2 years, the first time being the River Song is your daughter series

Now you mention it, their was a massive break in this season too, I think it was too long though.

This season doesnt seem to be unfolding very well for me, lots of questions not many answers. And with so many questions maybe we wont find out everything this season perhaps we will need to wait for season 8 or even 9 for the full reveal....

I am probably talking cobblers but I think the "break" is down to several things:
Costs involved - better to make it more of an event and hopefully attract maximu viewers ? Letting the actors go off and do other things - I seem to recall the Amy Pond girl did one off drama about someone or other.
Without wanting to appear snobbish I think a lot of popular TV and film works best when it reinvents itself this programme The Bond movies etc. If you try and analyse stuff too much it can take the fun out of it, I never worked out why when I first saw The Good The Bad and The Ugly film my mates older brother kept saying nothing can happen to Blondy in this one what he meant I found out later on was the timeline for the film in the other films trilogy

This second half of series 7 seems to be a little low budget compared to the first half - maybe they blew a lot of the budget shooting in the US in the first half ?

Honestly can't say I noticed that TBH I thought the Sweetville and the submarine one were particularly well made, your probably right though.

I have found that the lower budget episodes have tended to tell a better story, the two mentioned above are good examples, and I've enjoyed them more as I haven't been sitting there thinking "oh look, more green screen"
