Does anyone on here do track days in your Aston?
Discussion
I've not done a track day in my V12v yet but if I did then I would go with an Aston track day. Yes it is much more expensive than a regular track day but I would expect a good standard of driving.
I have done many track days in various other cars and if you really want to enjoy them then I'd suggest buying a cater ham, Westfield or Elise as they they are so much fun and to be honest will be much more fun than an Aston and you don't have to worry about damaging a 100k car.
I was at silverstone tis week and there was a db9 there on a Goldtrack day. Goldtrack are quite pricey days but generally good standards circa £400 for the day, that said I went on a £90 javelin day earlier and the standards on that day were better than the Goldtrack day even though there were many cheap track cars there..
Track days are about enjoying yourselft. If you're worrying about pranging your car then it will detract from the day. buy a 5k Westfield and have a blast instead

k me same picture again. So you went on one trackday once and suddenly you are a Lewis Hamilton. Next you will be telling me that you overtook me once as well
FYI this picture has never been on the forum

There's only one 'naturally talented' racer on here with his hard-earned seat in his dad's car

You guys just walk in the garden of his turbulence

Out to Thailand racing next week with a new Aston Team out there, should be fun! Looked at any nice bits of earth or rocks lately Lewis?

t, because you are, maybe you should consider that we have all paid for our own cars, rather than our Daddy having given them to us. If I was your successful father, I would be rather ashamed of the way that you hold yourself to be anything other than a learner driver.Lewis has a highly regarded degree in geology, Is well regarded in the oil industry and has an intellect that you could not understand.
Please stay in Thailand .

It's quite sad how Lewis seems to stalk me around this forum and at every opportunity tries to pipe up with snidey comments when I don't say anything about him. Must be because I'm not a BR customer
You seem to have taken my forum 'banter' (note the laughing face) the wrong way. There is a difference to being 'given' a car and earning a car, wether money is exchanged or not! Work to earn things, develop parts all benefitting the greater good

Go have a beer and relax, its the weekend after all!

Well spotted. Apart from the fact that you pitched up about about six months ago and started telling us old folk about how great you were(are), we would never have heard of you. It's quite sad how Lewis seems to stalk me around this forum and at every opportunity tries to pipe up with snidey comments when I don't say anything about him. You have a car, in Thailand, so go to it, young man. Good luck.

Why on earth would you ever want to track an AM ?. They're GT cars, not track scalpels.
Mr Robbo sixty six, have you considered that some people enjoy Aston ownership in a different way to you? Why do you need a 'scalpel' on track? It's good to learn the limit of every car you own, I always track every car I have for this reason. We're all different.Because a lighter, smaller car is far more entertaining IMO.
Good for you.
Yes we are....very.
I think that I would just prefer to drive the car on tarmac where I dont have to be keeping more of an eye on not falling into pot holes, than enjoying driving..... The roads in Berks/Surrey are the worst.....
Any way, I think that the day I have booked is a day where others are doing the same as me.. All with instructors.. I think this will just show me how to drive better. Also if I do more track days I will have a set of wheels and tyres to throw on rather than messing up my nice ones..
Lewis... Do you think my exhaust will be a problem??? Will have to check that out before hand... Cars in at Trinity for a service Monday, so if it needs switching can be done then.... be a shame to have a sports exhaust and have to take it off to drive on a race track..

Yeti, just checked the noise regs at Silverstone and compared them with the info from the Quicksilver exhaust and looks like I should be ok....
The noise regs there are a max of 105db static or idle and 102db on the drive by test, the info on the Quicksilver website says that mine is 74db idling and 102db at 6750rpm...

Can you get it noise tested at Trinity? A purveyor of loud exhausts, yours sounds much louder than 102dB... Worth checking before you get there!!

A few, yes. 2 courses each with 20 very bright people now possessing a far better understanding of geomechanical engineering and earth science

Good luck and remember to look out for those Adam's apples...

What's the circuit?

Robbo I'm going to have to disagree with you that the Vantage is a GT, matey, but you'll get away with it on the DB9
CurlyWurly you should stay on the forum.....anyone that can wind up Woolders so easily is ok in my book.....I think I'm in his will you know
But you always disagree with me

No worries. I tend to take on board a reasoned and elequontly put opinion.
Makes a welcome change.

The last time I looked at mine it was a lump of component parts. If something breaks I pop down the road to Dr Mike's and he fixes it.Sometimes when at Dr Mike's I bump in to some mates and we nip down the road for a pie and a pint.
Simple really.
