Aksherley...I was a bit intrigued by the Lancia, felt ill informed so didn't comment, went off to wikipedia to read about it.

Anyhow, how is 'Herman' running now, looks like the wings are done? I miss that car, albeit the civic and morris are costing nothing to run which means more money for the Keeble.

You'll have to ignore the dodgy reflections.

Still going well! Genuinely stupid amount of car for the money.

Sorted the aerial and install, so as far as one can get from your description of 'tinny' now :-)

These on way for both sides: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Drivers-Seat-R1...

Interior steamed and shampooed etc.

Getting quotes for wheel refurbs.

Haven't done the wings yet, found a specialist in Wimbers by the name of Steve Redfearn, comes highly recommended, so it's going to him for a few bits shortly.

Reckon on £1500 all in by the time I'm finished, and it will be as good as any.

Bloody thing has me browsing SL60 ads and wondering what I have to do to get an SL73...

My aerial doesn't work, so no radio only CDs. Is that what you had? Any tips?

I just got a replacement oem one, plugged it in.

Job jobbed.

You can get 3rd party ones for 25 quid or so on the bay of scum if you want to save a couple of quid, 100 or so for MB.

I looked at the 8.32 at the motor show at the NEC when they were new, could not believe just how tight things were under the bonnet!

Top marks!

Me too when I was a kid, but it was the retractable boot spoiler that appealed to me. Porsche copied Lancia on that one. I think the show car had brown leather too, but am not 100% certain. I am sure lots of Dads were impressed, but were probably put off by the LHD and the MPG!

With the demise of the big NEC car show, there must be a whole generation of lads who have never been to a proper international show where all the big names would exhibit. I remember peering through the crowds at the launch of the world-beating Austin Mini Metro, the Aston Martin Bulldog, Ford Transit Supervan 2, Espace Williams and the full-fat V12 4WD Jaguar XJ220.
