Tidy.

Excellent bowling performance this morning.
Much needed, conditions were as favourable yesterday.

Be interesting to see if there's a more positive tone to the batting. Crease occupation is 't enough with bowling conditions as helpful as they are. Need the best part of 200 lead on the board at stumps as a minimum.

You would have thought this match situation was made for Trott.

However sometimes grafting isn't enough, you need to go for a few shots and put the pressure on the bowlers.

Would be good to see Bell try and go after them more.

That is what you call a poor shot.

Better partnership this time round, Good to see hammer of justice droppped down the order. We can save him chucking his wicket away until later in the match

Low scoring game, if we have one batsmen make an 80 or so, we will probably win it.

Superb innings from Root, he's looked England's best batsman in this match.

Compton had another poor dismissal today....Nasser really pulled apart his technique on Sky.

Root to open against the Aussies me thinks.

Well we look really quite brittle, Not often Prior fails in two innings but a pair here has been very damaging, since Prior normally anchors the tail.

Have to hope Broad and Swann have sense of duty when they come in. Sick of Broad swinging off his toes and not playing a solid knock - of which he is more than capable.

200 lead might be enough, but at 159 for two you have thought 300 lead was well within range. Not anymore....

Broad appears to have remembered how to hold a bat.

Had he failed this morning, I'd have expected him to be replaced by Bresnan for the second test. His bowling alone isn't good enough at the moment.

NZ need to score the highest innings of the match. They would also need to post the third highest winning run chase in the fourth innings of a test match at Lords. Both of which suggest it is unlikely, however it's definitely gettable, they just need to get on with it and have some luck.

England cannot possibly lose.

Kiwis won't make 160.

Dry and overcast, but reasonably high cloud.

Should be dry all day today
