New barge booties today. Amazed at the prices differences between tyres. Got the latest set at £40 less per tyre than the cheapest internet price I could find... now all that 'saved' money needs to go towards repairing the damage the pheasant did the other day. £400 worth... Fecking stupid birds.

I'm extremely lazy when it comes to house diy stuff though. I'm sure that it would have the same amount of potential in ten years time.
Generally it's best to buy the worst house in the best location. As we discovered a couple of years ago it's not wholly about how much you recoup financially, it's also about how fast you can sell a house at a price that makes your sums work when a new opportunity presents itself. Location and potential will govern this.

Hello b
hes and b
ds. Seems a while since I've posted in here - new job keeping my stupidly busy, see.
In trouble with the Wife already. Went to a friends housewarming last night. We're having lunch with the same people at 1pm today. I've been honest in how I feel "We spent all last night with them, 12 hours later we're seeing them again."
Apparently I don't have to go - well, I think that would look rude so I am going. The biggest reason is so the Wife can see her best mates baby - they live overseas so we don't see them much. We're catching up with another couple too.
Yours,
Grumpy Bus

That's the thing. It's not a bad area, just not what we were looking for. We'd prefer to be a bit closer to town, and it would probably mean a change of school for our son. Lots of thinking to do over the weekend. Are houses in der Nederlands as stupidly expensive as second hand cars?
Not really. It's quite a stable market, so not really much chance to make money on property. The big difference is proximity to a commuting town, as a house in a town on the main rail line/motorway to Amsterdam or the Hague/Rotterdam is very expensive, and the further out you get the price drops dramatically.
