That was one hell of a sprint from Cav. I'm pleased that I kept Majka on my fantasy cycling lineup, too. smile

Extremely impressive to see the overhead sprint by Cavendish!
yes - he always seems to have just enough in the tank as well to hold them off on the line. The guy who was second was banging his handle bars. Cav was smirking smile It must be so frustrating to be a decent sprinter in the UCI world tour at present. How do you solve a problem like Cavendish?!

I reckon the only way is to team time trial the last 20km and break OPQS, lose his train (good luck doing it when Boonen gets back though).

Such a good move from Cav to leave team Sky realised he had no chance of building a team with them concentrating on gc and is now reaping the rewards.

That, or by picking the races he doesn't go to... probably still just about possible to end up with more world tour points if someone works their arse off.

There was talk about riders being unhappy with the conditions set for the descent of the col du mont cenis, with sub zero temperatures expected but the stage will go ahead as planned from yesterday's meeting.

It means that the stage will not finish at the summit of the Col du Galibier but 4.25km further down the climb at the Marco Pantani memorial.

After long negotiations with French authorities it has been agreed that the stage will finish at the Pantani monument, 10km further up the Galibier, at an altitude of 2,295m. The Pantani monument marks the spot where Italian rider attacked in the rain to secure victory in the 1998 Tour de France.

They confirmed that the stage will follow the start as planned in Cesana Torinese and climb the Col du Mont Cenis after 58km because there is no alternative route over the Alps into France. The stage will start at 1:00pm local time instead of 12:30 as scheduled.

I do love how the Europeans immortalise massive drug cheats while trying their hardest to irradicate the cheating Americans.
