Thirty-one practices are deemed to be unfair in all circumstances. A trader carrying out any one of these will have breached the CPRs, whether or not it had any effect on the average consumer.

* Claiming to offer a competition or prize promotion without awarding the prizes described or a reasonable equivalent.

Tracker: fair warning, don't make me get all arsey about the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean if the person, or company withdraws from the competition.

Why don't we all forget it happened and leave PH to get on with something worthwhile?

For the nosey and curious like me what was the actual competition, what did you have to do?

A panel of judges (70s DJs, comedians, TV personalities and the like) were to judge PH's most tiresome poster.

The prize was going to be one of these.

The competition was suspended following public outcry about some alledged chicanery on the part of Haymarket middle management.

Cool, I am most definitely the only entry on google's cached page. How do I collect my prize?

Haha, ok that competition bombed then. As an actual prize, well it is free other than the subscription, so is worth something I guess. However I think where they have struggled is they seem to have an outdated business model now, as you can track your car inother ways as per some of the posts. Same as HMV and CDs. And this competition was obviously meant to raise their brand awareness so people posted up some 'good news stories' about how useful the tracker was, but...

To pull the competition is a bit lame, even though to be fair some of the posts probably didn't cheer the company up that much!

I want to eat a tracker bar so badly now , sorry if this thread ended up advertising the wrong tracker bandit

A competition to win Lotus. That's Lotus Cars, not a Lotus. It was an elaborate tax scam to land an innocent with billions of Rupees of debt and free up Kimi Raikkonen to buy Tyrell. Or something.
