Not for much longer I hope. Him and his mate, they`re both well past their sell by date.
To be replaced by Balding and Humphries. That said, that's still a massive step forward.
Do you think that perhaps they've known they're getting canned for a while and that's why they're not being careful about being even more odious?
Just seen an interview with Crutchlow saying he's offended that Poncheral is talking to other riders for next year, even tho he refused to sign a 2 year deal in the hopes of getting a better ride.
I don't understand his complaint- isn't it normal for teams to be exploring the rider market at this stage, and he's made it clear he won't stay if anything better comes along. What am I missing about this? Seems deeply petulant to me.

It's brinkmanship and nothing else. He's trying to put himself in a position (from a riding perspective) that Yamaha would be mad to let him go. He then makes a big song and dance about how he will leave if something better comes along in the hope that Yamaha find a way to provide him with factory kit in the Tech 3 team next year. Meanwhile, Herve is covering his bases whilst also trying to call Cal's bluff. This could, of course, be complete nonsense but it is how I read the situation. Personally, I like the petulance. I would rather see a rider mega confident in his own abilities and wanting a better package than a 'yes' man. Think Murray Vs Henman in tennis, Crutchlow Vs Toseland in MotoGP etc. Cal is playing a risky game though as if it doesn't come off it could leave him properly screwed.

I'm a Rossi fan and really want him to do well but surely Yamaha would have been wise to have put him on a 1 year contract - He will always remain a great name in motorcycling but prehaps another rider should be on the factory seat next year if he does not perform.
PR, pure and simple. Yamaha know that they have Lorenzo to win races, but he won't sell nearly as many bikes as Rossi does. As long as Rossi starts putting the bike in the rostrum soon I think Yamaha will be quite happy with the team they are running as it keeps the racing dept happy and the marketing dept happy.
