All that power and visual drama. Loved them as a kid in the late '70s and still love them today. Shame they weren't allowed to reach their true potential.

What on earth is going on out of shot that is so good that the crowd aren't watching the 72 being driven so hard?

Do you know what I really, really hate about the GTO?

Its that there is nothing at all to hate about it. It is perfect.

As the now most expensive car in the world surely its very being should make me hate the bloody thing.

But no. No. It is just about my absolute perfect dream car.

Such a shame it is so many other peoples too.
I know it's not a common view, but GTO's leave me a little cold. I think they are a bit of a caracature. Maybe it's over exposure? Give me a SWB anyday (Please!)

My favourite, and I have a real soft spot for it, having had the joy of driving it (demo, not race) at an AMOC event at Brands. Glorious thing it is too!

This photo isn't mine, and I don't know how to post it directly, so here's a link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmentd1/2568648712/

(Chassis number should read DB3S/6)

I know a couple of these are repeats but you can never have enough of a good thing. The Mercedes motorsport interest I don't understand myself but there is something wonderfully barmy about there 1970's adventures that I can't resist; the other two are obvious (see profile) and the last is a bit cheeky as it never turned a wheel in anger, but again, the idea of it is awesome.

There was and never will be anything like this.

I wasn't around to be taking photos when they were originally racing, but nice to see them both back out again now. Both very successful at the time.

Just an excuse to show gratuitous pictures but post a picture and say why you love it. Race, rally, anything competition based

I struggle to verbalise how this car makes me feel. A bit wobbly coupled dizziness and increased heart rate (and those wheels!).
Love that; and if we end up going to Le Mans this year I might copy that for "stickered up". What's the history of this car?
