I honestly don't think he'd be first pick for West Ham. It's a sad time when Arsenal set their sights so low.
rofl

What was you saying the other day about Spuds Wumming...?

Thats not a "WUM", im, it's a statement of fact. I have played at a decent enough level and held an ST long enough to see what does and doesn't cut it in the EPL. Sagna is not a good defender, I'm amazed Wenger has put up with him for so long. His only attribute is his mobility, but that will begin to wane soon.

As a side note - I don't have an issue with anybody on this forum, it all seemed to be coming to a head the other night and I just thought I'd say what I said as I like this footbal forum and don't want to lose it.

I do banter with my mates, not people online, maybe I'm missing something...

If I went over to the United or Scousers forum and said what you've just said about Sagna about one of their players I'd get slaughtered for being a WUM.

yes

I do find it funny how 'everybody else' is always a WUM but never the accuser...and I'm not aiming that specifically at you frankly.

Not that I give a toss about people calling me that...for exactly that reason.

I think most on here are in agreement that he was one of our best defenders, but this season has been inconsistent, and wouldn't be disappointed to see the back of him and replaced with Jenkinson.
If you are talking about past seasons too, well, then then being named in the PFA team of the year twice in the last 6 years isn't too bad.

I'd say it on any forum, I couldn't care less. The fact that Spurs are somewhat of an irrelevance must stick in your craw; it's the only justification I can envisage for the relentless campaign a few Spurs fans seem to want to subject the PH football fora to.

Indeed there's not really a higher endorsement than from your peers. AS for the "he's not a good player" statement above...sorry that's just rubbish. He's been a fantastic player for Arsenal when he was injured last year we missed him massively.

Cesc took a paycut to go to Barca, so he won't be moving for money if he does indeed leave. He also said he'd like to bring his daughter up in London so that rules out a move north. If he's going anywhere, he'll be coming home.

As a side note, and I know it was said to get a reaction. But Sagna at his best would get into any team. Don't judge his ability on the performances of this season, as he's been no where near he's best.

100%...worth remembering how he left, there was no animosity like there was with Nasri, RVP et al.

There's about as much chance of Cesc coming back in the short/medium term as there is of him sighning for Man Utd.

In other, words, none.

We are apparently in advanced negotiations to sign Jovetic from Fiorentina for about 18m-20m, too many reliable sources reporting this now for there to be no substance at all in it. I have seen as much as 26m quoted, seems ridicolous, the real amont is probably just under 20m. He's a typical Wenger player in more ways than one so I would not be surprised if this happened.

Interesting move I've only watched him play maybe 5-6 times but he's young, very good on the ball with exeptional close control, can operate in a tight space while closely marked and beat his man, something we need to do more of when teams defend deep against us and there's no room for Theo/Alex to use their pace.

His best position is just behid a centre forward, very creative player who has an excellent eye for a pass and will create a lot of chances. The downside is that he's not a natutal goalscorer, never been prolific and to me lacks that killer instinct in front of goal, as talented as he is.

I think he would work well with a quick, mobile forward, I would question how well he can play with Giroud.

Idealy, we get Jovetic AND a another more direct forward, with Giroud being a plan B which at this level is really all he should be.

Yaya Sonogo.

Sounds like what Mancini might have said when Wenger asked if Kolo's brother was available.

Yeah just reading about him...bad leg break followed by a load of injuries post rehab. So he'll either be like poor old Diaby or hopefully like Ramsey who (touch wood) seems to have no complications. Sounds like he's a bit of a unit too which for the PL is no bad thing.

He'll joing the portfolio of promising youngsters and if past things are to go by we might get one first team player out of them....Miyachi, Campbell, Gnabry, Miquel, Eisfield, Afobe etc etc
