We have an iPad and I'd be amazed if someone going past in another vehicle would be able to see what's on the screen.

I wonder if maybe he was running one of those OBDII engine management apps, such as DashCommand?
You can see what is on an Ipad screen. Month or so ago we were undertaken by girl in '13 plate Corsa holding Ipad in front of her face watching a video. My passenger had a good look at the screen as the car went past me on the busy road going past Ascot race course.

There are some people who can do really complex stuff like reversing on only their mirrors.
Like a million truck drivers and me. But driving a vehicle safely whilst playing a computer game..............don't think so.

Yes of course some of the PH driving gods could do it, I know.

Yes I understand and sympathise with your comments. Frankly though the number of non drivers and people I meet who state that they can drive, then embelish this with "I have no problem with the gears and everything but I don't have a license". The truth is that until 100% of your concious attention is focussed on hazard spotting and the car control is done completely in the subconcious, you are not safe on the road. At this point, other distraction are going to hinder that focus but not cause a crash. I would much rather be driven by a good driver at twice the speed limit while he is sorting out the sat nav and the tunes, than someone still counting 1..2..3 before checking the mirror. rolleyes Perhaps some of these simple tasks like sat nav and radio should be part of the driving test?

I saw something like this in the US last month for use with a satav application. I got completely blanked when I asked about the airbag under it.

So the passenger over a slowly overtaking car, just four feet away, can't see the screen??

Especially when they tell their driver to slow down and get real close......hehe

I think it's more a consequence of a sad decline in basic intelligence and common sense. You really shouldn't need police to point out the error of doing something this stupid...

Going back a bit, when I was actively sales repping and doing a lot of miles, it used to be fairly common the see van drivers on the motorway with a paperback book propped on the steering wheel.
