The Ugliest car ever made ?

I find it pretty hideous. The bizarre change between fairly soft rounded styling at the front to hard edged boxiness at the rear, the really tall front bumper with pretty much nothing underneath it, the massive swage line that could have been taken from an Austin Maestro etc...etc...
OK, it's not pretty, but I react less strongly to it. Basic proportions are interesting, drop it back down to normal estate ride height and reduce the visual impact of the side crease and it would look OKish. IMVHO of course...Mr2Mike said:
That said the Chinese market Honda Crider takes things to a new, and unwelcome level. With the amount of unnecessary and randomly placed swage lines I reckon it could have been styled on the Merc CLA.
Thanks for that, spectacular! Really made me chuckle. Looks a bit like what happened to sports shoes or cheap portable hifi a few years back. Looks like it has been styled for insecure teen agers

I was driving along next to one of these the other day, and was staggered to see how far this generation had departed form the previous tidy looking iteration
Yup, sad really -- they lost the plot somehow. The 8th gen (FK/FN) still looks fresh I think, minor updating would have been enough. Even won a Red Dot award for what it's worth... But the current model seems to have been styled mostly to look "different" no matter how. carlove said:
I think that is a might fine looking car, especially in Sport spec like that one. Not biased at all.
Chacun son gout and all that, but I still don't like what came with/after Bangle.
On the 3er, in particular all the creases in the side that, I suppose, are there to make it look "dynamic" somehow, and of course that front. The way the cut the bonnet so far up and then sort of stick on that aggressive face. Complete with fake air intakes and the overstyled light clusters as is de rigeur currently. BMW aren't worst offenders, but still :-/.
Will be interesting to see where they are going styling wise: de-Bangle the cars and move back to "classic" understated styling? One can whish, but I doubt it. The emerging market buyer seems to like his car presumptuous, and that's where the money is.
I think the F30 is a good sign as it is, in my opinion better looking than the E90 (I'm still learning my BMW names so they may be wrong), the replacement for this one should be better looking again. That's my thinking anyway.
It has to be said though, the 70s/80s BMW are much better looking.

Now, I'm not actually suggesting that this is the ugliest car ever made but, personally, I find the Alfa Brera / Spider gopping. It's poorly proportioned, the wheelbase looks too short and it's got a fat arse. I just don't understand why everyone else seems to think they are stunning.

Agree 100%. I'm a huge Italian car fan but not a fan of the Brera at all. I'd rather have a 159ti with 19's please.

Totally agreed on the 70s/80s BMWs. The E90 isn't exactly on my want list either. Perhaps yes, the F30 is an improvement. Almost a pity that the retro department at BMW is limited to the mini - would have loved to see a modern take on an E30...It has to be said though, the 70s/80s BMW are much better looking.
Will be interesting to see how the i-cars will look in the carbon fibre
. I suppose the i3 will be back in this thread sooner or later, but I really like what seems like functionalism slowly creeping back into the styling of the i3.Kolbenkopp said:

Seen a few of these now and they look awful, one was brown, which didn't help.

I quite like them! Can see myself buying one in a year or two.
Each to their own, I thought it was horrible, just remembered though, saw one of these and thought it was worse, a shame as I kind of wanted to like it.
I guess I just don't like the small cars that are made big.

the final version of the Granada Scorpio was a real pig and killed off years of tradition of sales directors / MD's ordering a Granada Ghia as their company motor.
This one on Ebay is/was the MD of Turbo Technics personal car and have to say despite its dreadfull front look (like a startled toad) I am tempted to bid for it, a 350 bhp 4wd sleeper, would make a great tow car!
