With squats, one of the problems I seem to have with squats, and its my own making as I only go down to parallel, is if I go down past a certain point with a weight higher than a certain amount, I'm not getting the weight back up again as I'm weak a little past parallel. My question is, I'm thinking of bringing the weight right down from next week for squats and going further down than parallel and essentially starting again from scratch, this will remove this line that I can't past if I want to get back up, help with flexibility and should be much better...what are everyone's thoughts?
I suspect everyone will say yes. As would I.

There's another way, though... Stay with your current squat weight and keep pushing how low you dare go. I'm no expert so if you injure yourself, blame someone else.

As an experiment, I have been doing wide grip pull ups with a 20kg DB lodged between my legs. The first time I did a pull up, the ROM was maybe 6 inches and 3x3 reps. A few weeks on, I'm doing reasonable ROM and 3x4.

Experiment with it but remember that it takes time to adjust.

So two things I don't like, high reps and time out of the gym, seem to be awesome! Who said high reps don't get you strong!? A couple of months ago I had a DL 1RM of 225kg. 2 months of 10 rep wor, followed by 10 days of hardly any training. Todays session....

DLs
1 x 3 at 210kg
1 x 3 at 220kg
1 x 3 at 225kg

Bench press
2 x 3 at 125kg
1 x 3 at 130kg

Bent over row
1 x 3 at 140kg
2 x 3 at 145kg

Shoulders press
1 x 3 at 75kg
2 x 2 at 80kg

Ace! Now, just imagine how strong you'd be if you did really high reps, say 100 or 1000 rep sets. You'd be a monster!

Is that the whey isolate? The regular whey gives me immense wind - which the other half may just have to put up with at that price!

Well they lifted that pretty quickly from the website...

All of a sudden banana is only available in max size of 2.5kg, all other flavours up to 5kg.

Bugger.

As an aside, interested in shoulder and hip mobility exercises, and any supps people take for joint care?

Sorting my glute activation (ie getting them to fire) and really deep squats have really helped with my hip mobility.
Need to get my shoulders sorted too so will follow this with interest. I've started doing resistance band shoulder dislocations, will have to see how they go.
