OH ! Sorry I seem to have forgotten the bit in the middle, you know , the hard bit, where all the work and worry takes place

Time to startup (first run of the motor) check all the systems, brakes, steering, electric , show it the light of day and culminate with a quick test run round the block. OH ! happy days (ONCE previusly a wheel came off !!!) here goes :-

After all the work , rest and play it is time for a day at the races , put the hot- rod to work for its keep, we did rather well and created quite a lot of interest at the track. Managed to see off some much bigger cars and wave the flag for good old British MG sports-cars

And finally to cover all the bases the car has to make an appearance at the auto shows, so a little dressing up and we are ready to do some more flag waving for MG sports-cars.

After rushing round for a season racing the MGA Coupe and doing shows etc winning a few trophys a nice kind person from Holland made me an offer that just could not be refused on condition the car was converted to road spec's :- chrome wire wheels, street exhaust and the flame job removed(just not europeon style,Right!)
The car is now doing a tour of the Netherlands, I think ?

Following the experience with the MGA Coupe which had provided so much sport and enjoyment over the last several months it was decided to get some open air time in by completely restoring an MGA roadster to play with for the next season. The coupe had been a little claustrophobic with a roll-bar installed , competition seats and a larger trasmission tunnel. The other problem was that the extra power created lots of noise inside which got quite horrendous after a while on full gas

More hours of bodywork ,welding and cleaning ready for paint and rebuilding, a labour of love ,it can't be comman sense surely ,but the end result should justify the effort, makes your muscles ache but you can feel proud when it's finished.

Thanks! Wish now that I'd kept it a bit longer, but I had an offer for about what I'd spent not long after it was finished; I fancied a new project and the Lotus went to New Zealand I think...
