Ian your a gent mate but Im just waiting on my boy, if he still wants to go were coming hook or crook, might borrow my mates screaming Westfield with no windscreen lol. Joke!!

Alun, you have a good point on both matters - a screaming Westfield would be great in the tunnels and the promised sunshine (good forecast at the moment), and this is a great opportunity to talk (I know you are really very shy, but go on, make the effort!) to all the different car owners and hear the results of their exhaust mods.....Really appreciate the effort mate, I've got to come and see just how much I need de catting etc!

Gearbox, rose joint, I have a replacement for it. About 3 times now I can't select 1,3 or 5th gear. Solid wall? I've had a look and it all seems to work ok! Do I take a chance!
Just got my alarm back so I'll be setting a new record for dash replacement shortly lol.
I've hardly driven her since it happened so I'm going to get the gearbox hot and see how it performs. There's always the AA!

You seem to put a smile on people's faces with your posts, I suppose you are a bit like a human tvr, Absolutely Crazy, totaly nuts but still everyone likes you.
I've had a quick peek at the gearbox, yes it would pay to replace it and yes I'm gonna pay to have it replaced, get it done properly. I'll update my progress after another cup of coffee, it's freezing here today.
I'm almost frightened to come down south, used to love the old smoke, business is so slack up here I'd go back at the drop of a hat!
I like the quiet of the sticks and sleepy small town but jeez my heart beats at about 25 min up here!

Oupps hit the wrong button, I was going to go on to say Rich don't do it regards the headlights but it's to late now. At least there will be a bigger difference in the cars now, have to picture them together to see the difference.

Does the reversing light come on when you try? If they don't you might have the same problem i did last summer in Southend. You daft buggers, aaaaar you chaps are thoughtful, no I'm skint the cars not loud enough and I have dinner lined up at some friends to consolidate then on to watch some grasstrack racing.
Ive driven around for 40 mins and it doesn't make any difference, the gearbox is tight into fifth and getting worse. Oddly if I do manage to get it into reverse it then seems better in the gears for awhile.

Nah just bored Rich! I enjoy spending the money, I could have got away with basics but I aim to have the car a good while, I think you miss understood how much I've spent, the insurance covered 2/3rds! Hey mines close to not breaking down like ever! I payed to much for the car in the first place but you can't deny it's pedigree and my engine bay ain't just polish, everything is new, how longs that gonna last Don't cost much when you look at it like that. It's a hobby, a passion, and by Feck does the work make a difference on a track?

I've had the drive shaft UJ's and gators, dif mounts done for fun for instance, errr I do like flying into corners on a track of coarse, I just want a new car and that can only be done one way. If I'd wanted to buy, drive, sell I'd never have touched it but that's never been my intention so forget the money it's the years ahead I'll enjoy. Alun

Rich,do you like race tracks,we can both find out where are cars at! Crickey it would look like a team lol. Did you say you had a hot Caterham or Westfield. By that I assume your a monster driver also then. Be great fun watching what is essentially the same car in front/ behind as you go around, weird. Be interesting to know which car is quicker!

Goes back to my point though I don't like throwing a car at a corner at 125 mph without having it all new and tight!!! It's why I'm doing what I'm doing, no other reason just pure breathtaking entry speed.
Rich, that's my true passion in life. Now that is sad but true. It's why I'm watching grasstrack racing tomorrow. If you want to see entry speed just watch a 500 flat out then chucking it sideways at 95mph on a bumpy field, respect! Hardcore racing, and they sound as loud as TVR's.
We'll have to have a drag race, in fact we don't need to , I've got a vid of mine doing 0-60 in about 4.7. st start! I know how to gate!

Alun, where did you get the idea that I thought mine was faster!!!!! daft bugger, back to back they are different to be sure but that's TVRs, yea would be interesting on a track but I don't really want my screen ending up like yours!!! find one with no stones and I'm up for it. Ive been thro mine with a fine toothcomb so I'm happy to give it serious beans, too many years in engineering means I want it right when doing warp speeds down the bypass.

Exactly that mate, yeah the airports are to much. The screens so scratched you can't see into the sun anyway! My mate has a contact up at Bruntingthorpe I must find out what that really means. They often have car days there still and it's only round the corner, I'd love to get a private session there, walk the track and clear any objects, the fact it's closed down to air traffic most the time must help. I'll find out. There safe that's the big bonus!

Organised by ourselves, we could have a lap timer, plenty of space and respect for eachothers cars, nice. My mate ..... It sounds like a lie already, I'm sure he said he could get sprinklers put on!!! If he's got that clout then just the use if the circuit can't be to much to ask.
As I can't go to the tunnels I'll have that as a goal to see what I can come up with.
I'm not one for quick blasts really, roads are to bumpy for the speed of our cars, and my eyes can't pick them up fast enough anymore, but race tracks and the odd good airfield, smooth and our cars love the places. It's like taking Red Rum to Aintree, perfect harmony. I found a level in our cars that frankly suprised me, ok there terrible compared to stuff that sticks, done wobble, stops etc but I've fallen for the brutish way a load of out of date in1993 ford parts are hanging in there in 2013 with much more advanced thinking. It's brilliant, I'm Jim Clarke, Bob Bondurate, all those great men I adored and idolised for there bravery and skill, these are the things that inspired our cars, and by eck if you ask it they don't alf respond to delicate tickling.

There was hot hatches worth a dollor at the track, special suspension systems the lot, fortunes, my tiv ripped them off the road, so satisfying when following a modern car through a series of turns just how low and level the Tvr was, I had it rock hard and with all the corner forces it still leaned over to much but it made most the cars there look really crap!
It probably sounds like I was a demon, I got out the way on many an occasion but then found I just ended up on there boot. There's something I'm finding about the car that's really special, as I said with a good balance I seemed to be able to carry really good entry speed and still smack the brakes at the latest moment. Car really took the extreme change of direction and made me feel better than I am.

My old carts used to be so pure and driver perfect, this ain't but because I can remember what was about when these things were conceived, escorts, and the like, it's a wonder of engineering. I mean Im sure I found the old fag packet instructions someone connected the wiring up with earlier, I consider them as kit cars in many ways, again most kit cars are diabolical so they really are a breath of fresh air.
My friends Westfield sounds like a hundred children screaming, raw power upto 120 ish. I went from 70 to 125 on the motorway for a split second in mine, he was well impressed. Different league me thinks. Don't get me wrong him and his car would rip my arse around most tracks, he's insane fast. Yep the driver can be the thing that makes a car fly like a magic carpet ride! If you gave me 50 hp more I'd still back Alonso to stuff me into a corner, lol lol ave I bin dreamin again.
