Thoroughly enjoyed that (apart from when Rossi dropped it frown ) and was cheering Cal on throughout. Got to say, I really want the Pedrobot to win the championship, I think he bloody deserves it, even though I've never been a fan of his. Also, I reckon (probably wrongly) that this is his last chance to win it before Mark becomes un-bloody-beatable!

Also, enjoyed Reddings win - brilliant.

You don't think marquez was saving his tyres for a last few laps dash on fresher tyres?
Yeah possibly but I don't think he expected to be as far down as he was after turn 1, fantastic ride tho, as I said before, give him a sniff and he will take it.
Definitely the most exciting and aggressive rider in the field and arguably......the fastest

The boys ability to learn and adapt is astonishing.

Consistency, Marquez's fastest lap was only 5th best overall (on lap 10), Fastest was Pedrosa (lap15) followed by Rossi (lap 16), Crutchlow (lap 15) and Hayden (lap 16). All quicker over one lap.

Marc VDS actually had a 1-2-3 today, Scott and Mika 1st and 2nd for the team and Xavier Simeon 3rd who was on Scott's 2012 Marc VDS bike.

OK I reckon Lorenzo's rear fried after 6-7 laps and Vale just made a mistake. The Honda's did much better than I expected as I thought they'd have issues with the front. They've clearly moved the RCV on another chunk.

Awesome job by Cal, Dovi & Hayden.

Thrilling bloody race.

Lorenzo's problem was his helmet was fogging up, according to Azi's twitter

Lorenzo's own words

Jorge Lorenzo's post race interview said:
"In the beginning of the race the bike was not the same as warm up but not so bad and I could follow Dovizioso and Pedrosa,"

"I was losing a lot in some areas of the track but recovering in others.

"Then after three or four laps the bike got worse and I got problems everywhere - in the braking because in the middle of the corner I didn't trust the rear tyre; and in acceleration because the rear was spinning so much.

"I couldn't do much more without crashing."

Mark backed it off the last lap anyway, he lost about half a second to Cal having been catching him pretty well all the way through. Maybe decided bringing the bike home was the most important thing rather than any last lap heroics and a pile of bits.

Shocking bbc commentary. They missed loads of incidents. I mean FFS two people PAID to watch a race and talk and they missed some major overtakes. Coxy was so bad today you could tell even Parrish had had enough of him.

I agree. I'm normally not fazed by their commentary being poor, though I know many others don't like it. But today was just shocking. They missed the majority of the key moves and were talking complete balls for most of the race.

Maybe with the BT deal done they've just given up!?

I thought that, but wasn't Coxy ill? Sounded like his voice was going at a few points. That aside though, the performance was really poor from the pair of them, I found myself shouting at the TV every time they missed something (which was rather frequently). Funnily enough, I said exactly that about the BT deal to the missus earlier!

Also, would I be right in saying that Crutchlow's result was the best in GP motorcycle racing for a Brit since Ron Haslam's 2nd place in 1985?

Simon Buckmasterr got a 2nd place in the 500cc race in 1989 that Chilli won when the big guns went on strike.

The commentary on Eurosport was crap too. Missed several overtakes and rider mistakes. They had a shocker too.

Maybe they all went out and got battered on Saturday?!

Ah yes, saw someone post that on Twitter after I'd suggested '85. So the best result for a Brit in the top flight of GP bike racing for 24 years, all with a fractured tibia. Bloody impressive stuff!
