I would guess many first time owner’s experience of the marque, is to start with a used one.

If it were a confidence inspiring one, a proportion would no doubt consider buying new.

Would it be a fair to conclude this issue could rob them of new and repeat sales?
Yes, I think it is fair to assume that potential sales will be jeopardised by Astons attitude towards
these claims. I have owned quite a few different marques over the years and I can honestly say that
despite the fact I love the looks and the sound of Astons, old and new, they are probably the worst
cars that I have had regarding warranty claims. Will it deter me from buying another Aston? Probably.
But then I'm not so sure........

No because it supposedly doesn't happen any more due a change in process! ...
After which build date, have there been no reports of paint bubbles?
That's my question too -- when exactly was the process changed?

After 4 years of ownership, I had some corrosion appear suddenly on the drivers side door adjacent to the chrome strip on my V8 Vantage.

Took it to my Aston Martin dealer and was told that Aston would contribute bit I had to pay £500.

The car was sold and I can't see me buying another Aston.

Very disappointed by Astons response even though I clearly told them that it was their responsibility to resolve the issue and I shouldn't have to pay towards the repair.

The following week I was at a car auction, and there was an 2006 DB9 covered in blobs of corrosion on the bonnet and doors!!

Disappointing

Objectively, it is probably more important that they demonstrate that they have got on top of the problem and new cars won't suffer from the same. No manufacturer could sustain an obligation to warrant their cars against deterioration forever, and a number of the cars being talked about are 5-6 years old.
