Looking good!Proper RWD fun. Any plans?
Here's my first foray into BMW ownership. It's an 03 318i 2ltr SE

its nothing special tbh. but after viewing about 10-15 cars and each time realising what I was looking for wasn't ultimately achievable in my budget/spec.
I originally set out looking for a facelift e46 318/320CI Sport. viewed a couple, loved the 2.2 Straight 6 in one of them, but sadly the body and interior on them hadn't stood up to the miles very well.
Then changed my mind and took a fancy to the Touring, thinking of its practicality for my weekend marshalling duties. again viewed a few lemons, and some that showed it had been used as a distance load lugger but was still in good nick. sadly the seller wouldn't budge from the advertised price so I walked away.
then casually browsing Autotrader one evening, this cars listing popped up. price was good, looked clean and straight, wasn't too far away so I arranged to view it and test it.
Liked the colour (Topaz Blue metallic).
Couldn't find any rot in the usual places I'd been told to check for. (cant find any rot tbh but its not had a fine tooth combing)
Drove nice, no weird rattles or sounds, well besides a broken exhaust mount rattle!
negotiated a good price with the trader, paid my deposit then set off home to do a few checks and sort insurance, before returning last Wednesday to collect it!
And it's been happy motoring for the last week
I'm not so fussed on the leather interior, but thats changeable down the line. and still do prefer the looks of the Sport/M-Sport cars with the M-tech bumpers and mv2 alloys.
But like I said this is all changeable over time. and right now I'm just enjoying some slowly sideways motoring

Couple of pictures of my BMW E36 328m sport with its various sets of winter wheels on.
I have some very nice throwing stars sitting in my garage waiting to go on this summer.
The car itself is very close to standard and has quite low mileage with myself being the second owner.
very clean car and seams to get more attention than the heavily modified drift cars that most other e36s appear to be!

Hi all,
Here is my 1st BMW, it also is the first car that I have ever bought/insured/taxed and fueled myself!
It's at the cheaper end of the scale but I have just spent my bank holiday making her look as clean and smart as I could!

Its got full leather too!!!
Very nice! Brings back memories of my one, really liked itHere is my 1st BMW, it also is the first car that I have ever bought/insured/taxed and fueled myself!

Yep i'm really pleased with it, though I keep spending money on making it nicer such as replacing the clock (dead pixels) and sourcing an armrest for a compact to fit that is black leather too. Its also only done 47,000 miles and has 13 stamps in the service book. I've had it two months and its a step up from my old FIAT Seicento 899cc!!!OJS3 said:

I've recently bought an e91 SE (currently with 16 inch run flats) and would like to upgrade the wheels to some 18 inch CSL replica's. What size are you running there and do you have the sports suspension on yours?
I'm worried mine will look stupid with bigger wheels on the SE suspension. Has anyone tried this and if so how does it look? Also is it likely to significantly impact ride quality? Any thoughts appreciated.

After too many years without, I have an E30 again. This is a car I owned years back and sold to a regular service customers son. I've done the clutch, cambelt, complete exhaust and all the servicing since I sold it to him so I know the car well. Oddly enough, this is the most responsive and nippiest E30 2.0l I've ever had, it is also the nicest sounding one despite me having fitted various exhausts over the years, it always remained throaty with a nice burble. When I bought it I checked for any mods done besides what I had done (325i TB and inlet manifold ) but it seemed stock. Std knackered drivers seat and roof lining but I can sort that. I have an Astra sport seat setup in the garage that I had always intended to fit into an e30 if it had crappy seats, I might see what it looks like and if I can make the folding rears fit properly, otherwise I'll just retrim the drivers seat.

2005 E46 320Ci manual. Purchased last week.
My first BMW despite nearly 27 years of driving & I have to say I'm absolutely smitten! Never had so many positive comments about a car from friends, neighbours or work colleagues. Just love the straight six engine.
