So who's ordered an F10??
Discussion
Its got to be MCB and silverstone.
After 12m and 24000 miles I can assure you that the good times are about to roll, a truly awsome machine. I suggest you take a weeks annual leave from delivery date, get the 1200 miles to running in service out of the way over the week and book the running in service 7 days after you get the car so you can finally open her up ASAP.
Couple of points Ive picked up:
1: The 20 inch alloys are serious kerb magnets.
2: The silverstone leather on the arm rest can get discoloured and stained by dark clothing resting on it easily which is then difficult to remove, needs constant maintanance to keep clean.
3: Researched widely on the B & O sound system, consensus seems that its only worth the obscene cost if your music is high quality audio input and not compressed quality such as MP3. Dont expect it to play music via ipod/bluetooth or MW radio input etc...any better than standard sound system.
4: Had the E60 M5 for 3 years and 60000 miles before the F10, no doubt the F10 attracts lots more attention and interest when out and about, somehow seems to have much more road presence.
Havnt seen one single other F10 M5 on the road in the 12m Ive had mine, seems that may be changing soon. Anyone in N.Essex/Suffolk?

Brilliant post Sir!
I'm based in Essex and hope to be back in M5 business in the next 10 days.
That running in period is a bit of a bummer: does anyone on here fancy taking my new car for a few days and gently adding 1200 miles to its history?
I'll cover all fuel costs and my wife will take care of all other needs.
Has there ever been a better offer on PH?

Exciting times Jazzer! Long time coming but I'm sure it will be worth it!

As for those waiting for their cars to arrive atleast you get to enjoy them pretty soon unlike those sat on their hands!

Collected mine 6 weeks ago Citrine with Platinum and CCBs. I'm in North West Essex, perhaps we could all meet up and say hello when Jazzer gets his car?Gyrock said:

We could drive in convoy along the 414 and park up behind The Mogul in Ongar.....the boys in there love M cars and the food there is just to die for!
My treat!!

Would like to see a couple of other M5's in the flesh with different spec's and colour combos for comparison. Im based in NE Essex now but used to live in E. London and had to commute to work in Harlow, a three strong M5 convoy on the A414 should turn a few heads from the usual pumped up dross seen tanking it round Harlow ring road on a friday night.
Spotlights on you now Jazzer to take delivery and get that first 1200 miles out of the way.
If its true that the 0% PCP deals run through to the end of June and given that the facelift is just a couple of months away, if you ordered in late June could you expect a facelift car? i started a thread on the facelift here
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
The competition package if priced right could prove too tempting if you can buy one under the current deals.

I'm pretty certain you have to take delivery of the car by the end of June to qualify. The deal was obviously launched precisely because the LCI was due and pre face lift M5's had to be shifted. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Yes I'm a little peeved having only had my car for a month - I would certainly have opted for the competition package and some of the new colours sound interesting too, but I'm not that bothered. The advantage of 0% finance more than outweighs the disappointment.
Ah ok you must take delivery by the end of June, thats puts a different angle on the deal. It will be interesting in that case to see whether sales increase much with the facelift as it really doesn't offer a lot other than the competition pack which could have been so much more if complemented by a good wheel design. Its very hard to see how sales will increase given a large chunk of demand has been satisfied by the current PCP deals. Many buyers would even of had their interest pulled forward so there could be a real black hole for sales of the facelift if the deals are similarly enticing. I will be watching out for some good PCP deals again later this year.
No, Q1 deal which most of those who've ordered in this thread took advantage of, had to sign on by end of march or april, with registration and delivery by end of June. Q2 offer states deal by end of june and delivery/reg end of Sept. Timing is tricky though to get the facelift, JMRS4 (typo?) has a facelift on order and negotiated a facelift car on the current deal, to be built start of Sept not sure if that was with that dealer in particular or if its available to everyone.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same deal came out in Q1 of next year, its just a question of circumstances as to when you're willing to pull the trigger. Our plans are on hold as given how late the delivery times are being quoted now, makes no sense to take delivery of an M5 to run over winter while part-exing a winter car. Unfortunately missed the deal when it was offered at the start of the year through blind ignorance, when part-ex values would have been higher and discount on the new car the same with probably higher GFV.
Gyrock I wouldn't be peeved as you've already got the car and can enjoy it fully over summer unlike if you ordered now and took delivery going into Sept, run it in (if you're not doing high miles, running in will take a couple of months), then have to barely use it properly until the spring in which case you may as well have waited until then AND got a facelift car

Has anyone put an aftermarket exhaust on their F10?.....Ive got one at the moment, and sound is pretty underwhelming....if it was my car(its a friend's), I'd be looking at an Akrapovic or something similar as the lack of sound does let the car down IMHO...
Not sure about pricing etc but I've heard the Akrapovic system in real life and it was menacing... this clip just doesn't do it justice!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VroCYCsHMiM

I so nearly pulled the trigger myself back in February. I did not as for some reason my sensible head won the day but only by a split decision and a couple of re-counts telling me I will be better placed in the 1st quarter of next year should the 0% be available. Therefore in some ways I am hoping you will say no it is an exclusive F10 meet only as I am sure the man maths will be back on the table and the devil on my shoulder re-surfacing to pulverise my sensible side into submission if I come along.

You managed to show better restraint than me. I went in to my local Essex Cooper BMW dealers last June to ask if they could make a very general enquiry about an approved used F10 M5 at one of their other dealer sites. Came out 2 hrs later having signed on the dotted line for a new one they had in their showroom! Missus still thinks the car I have was an approved used car shipped down from Coopers Newcastle
Furthermore I took out 50% of cost on the finance before the 0% deal appeared
so its a slight understatement to say that im just a little bit jealous about all these 0% finance deal guys and their soon to arrive new motors while yours truly now has a 12m old car with a few scuffed alloys, a chip in the windscreen and a finance deal APR around my neck which Im too ashamed to mention here. Oh well thats cars for you, ive still had a blast and probably will make just the same mistakes again in 5 years time when the next one comes out.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
