This looks a nice car and in very good condition. R32 means a Golf to me too; I guess it's resonance is different if you're a fan of Japanese performance cars.
BTW, how did you change the title of the thread, I didn't know you could do that.
Thanks BTW, how did you change the title of the thread, I didn't know you could do that.
. Clicked on report thread and detailed what I wanted changing and why. Was done in minutes
Nice R32
I had a MKV from new and the engine only last 4500 miles before it died. VW replaced it for me, but the car never felt right after that. I hear there are quite a few problems with the MKV, so it's good that you've got the previous model.
Plus deep down, I think your car looks better than the MKV anyway!!

. I have to say I do prefer the look of the mk4, and I did drive a mk5 as I was unsure which to go for. Seemed a bit more of a cruiser and a little less urgent (if that makes sense). Plus read up on them and as you say seem to be alot more problems with the mk5!
Little job I did today:
Cleaned throttle body out this morning, was a bit mucky really so glad I did it:

One very salty horrible car:

One very clean non salty car:

Also got this mpg reading and had to take a pic lol (load of rubbish as I was going downhill for a few miles-did stay just above 30 for rest of journey home though!)

I am hopefully getting lit speedo needles, miles to empty on trip computer, anti hijack and follow me home lights enabled next week by a friend

Hey Alex, hows the car going? Looks like you're looking after it. Hows work n stuff. I'll hopefully be in a German car again in the next few weeks, looking at Barges atm, (Audi A8's and BMW 7 series) lol. I'll post it on here when i find a decent one.
Car is great hasn't missed a beat. Loving driving it still. My dad and I are just finishing up our road trip write up at the moment
. German is best, built so well! What cars you got in mind inparticular?

I already said, Audi A8 or BMW 730d, went to look at a bmw 730d yesterday, fully loaded 55 plate with private plate for less than 7 grand!
Tempting!
And some people shell out almost triple that for a new Pugeot. I have to admit with the rapid increase in build quality (especially with ze Germans) over the last 10 to 15 years I struggle to find why people would shell out so much more on a newer, slower, less interesting car just because its cheaper to fuel or tax.Tempting!

MK5
I've had mine for just under two years and 40k an it hasn't missed a beat. The MK5s are better cars in every way for day to day but I'd keep yours and get a stablemate for it if you can.
I've told myself I will run this to around 100k then go for a mk5 or an Audi RS4, depending on circumstance.

What's your next motor out of interest?
