Trying to work out how much it would cost to make the Puma drive like new, I'd gladly spend a bit of money on bodywork and engine improvements/servicing but not before I work out if making the bits that connect it to the road are going to cost me more than is sensible.
See if you can get hold of a diagram of the suspension, but apart from the shocks and springs, you basically want to replace anything that has a bush or a balljoint, and get it aligned afterwards.olly22n said:

That lot should make it ace to drive once I find someone to set it all up. I just don't want to start buying bits until I'm sure my attention span will let me finish the job.

They don't have Lemforder one listed, Sachs stuff works out at £393 with 25% off applied.
Which is a bit more than cheap lowering kits but doesn't seem bonkers.
Seems reasonable.Which is a bit more than cheap lowering kits but doesn't seem bonkers.
I've had mixed experiences of polybushes. I'm using a mix of poly and standard on the E28, based on what I can put up with.

From what I've read polybushes on the front of a Puma improve the way the car feels, polybushes on the rear make it unbearable. But ford fitted slightly firmer ones to the racing Puma so that could be the way to go. I've had mixed experiences of polybushes. I'm using a mix of poly and standard on the E28, based on what I can put up with.
The bit that troubles me is that once I've spent a bit of money I'll not be scared of spending a bit more, and I'll end up with a £700 ford that has cost me £4k.
This one I've just found has had everything done.
